Big thanks to Jai today for wiring up my lights. been outside now it's dark to check them out. How can lights so small be so bright, they're incredible.
Rear work lights turn night into day. No more reversing in the dark.:D

Okay, been to see stu and borrowed his king pins, still a bit wide, but a lot better

Cheers stu, but the Rtv is at mile end farm if you are interested Jai

Hi Jai If you still have those D rings i'll take em off your hands at the next meet, I will check with the scrutineer tomorrow.

Come on Spydie, pics fella

Well done that's no mean feat 2nd leafer in that
Club!

Today more chassis welding and I just can't get under where I need to be to weld so I think I'll have to hire a ramp fr half a day get all the underneath welding done in one hit. So rear body frame continues run out of light and angle. Tomorrows job get Rach a decent airgun (so I can have mine back!!!) pikup some more angle.

To all Disco owners out there.

The wife is pestering me to get rid of the Nissan Terrano II and buy her a Disco. Other than body rot which I know where to look, are there any other problems with a 300tdi and R380 (Sorry for swearing Killajoules) and if there is something to look for how easy / expensive it is to be fixed? Its a 1997 (P) on 137K.

Cheers all

Mainshaft gearbox wear, timing belt needs changing the day you get it if unknown. other then that tis the same as your rangie. same issues

Thanks for the tyre loan Stu :)

I think rot wise after the Autopsy on the one we ripped appart you know where to look for that.

As Jai says, put a new timing belt in immediately. Listen for tappet rattle and popping from the engine, the usual black smoke from the exhaust that could indicate a worn turbo.

Check that the 8 setscrews that hold the cam follower buckets are all in place down the drivers side of the block (As I know now to my great cost). Check the serpentine belt tensioner as these are prone to fail over time, not a big job though.

R380, listen out for excessive whoning from the gearbox while driving, and a rumble in 1-4. synchro on 2nd will probably have packed in at that mileage but thats livable with. Watch for blocking of any of the gears while changing.

Check that the difflock selector works obviously.

As she will be towing the horse box then check out the towhitch obviously.

If it has sunroofs, then it will probably be prone to leaks up there, really mechanically of course it is virtually the same as the classic.

Cheers Lads, Going up fast so might be out of my price range soon.

Make sure you leave me with some tread on my tyres Killajoules, and I got a pass for the 20th :D

I'd be after one as well if you can get a good deal. If not I can see if they would give me a trade discount on volume, how many you looking at so far?

Kris

Theres 3 of us so far. Theres a show in newbury next weekend for the best deal but would have to put order in by wednesday. They have given me 3 prices. A bare goldfish winch with no rope and one with steel rope and price for dynemna rope. If you need fitting kit its free at show.

Remote unit is extra as is fairlead, steel rope comes on the winch already in the box, Dyneema was supplied extra. Deal at Billing was basically list price minus the VAT
