Think you can tie a loaded trailer and indeed on motorways with L plates I can legally tow 1100kgs with overrun brakes on my 90 without the need for b+e.

Anything above 1100kg plated mam of trailer then I need L plates and a passenger for instruction. They can not Make you pay someone to train you you are entitled to train yourself with a willing passenger aslong as you inform your insurer of such requirements.

I thought the trailer towing law was only relevant if you pasted your driving test after 1997 ?

I am 100% certain that you can not drive any vehicle on Motorways while using L plates.

I know that when learning for a HGV you cannot drive loaded when using L plates and would be fairly certain it's the same with car trailer. The test alone is £120 and I can tell you exactly what you will need to do for it if you like, all you will need is a box trailer (horse box, cattle trailer ok) the same width as your landy, you cannot use flat trailers.

It's the only time you are allowed on a motorway with l plates.

Being loaded or not well the new regs come in to force meaning all trailer tests must have x ammount of weight in loaded. I have written confirmation from another thread that you may be loaded with L plates.

Cheers stu its more complicated tho it must be as you say a full height trailer I.e you cannot see over it where to park also the towing vehicle must conform to latest regs I.e warning audio warning buzzer on indicators etc

you may drive on the motorway as long as you are supervised and are displaying ‘L’ plates. If you do not meet these conditions you could be fined up to £1000, be disqualified (banned) from driving or have three to six penalty points on your licence.

Viper nobody will give details online as it allows idiots access to our local RoW. People just search for lanes and get where to go on here then Hoon down the lanes and driving off piste so we never really post where to go. However most of us will happily invite you to come on a days laning with them and you can remember the legal lanes. Alternativly if are you a member if BHCLRC??

They will have a Map you can copy from for club members.

Viper keep an eye out I may go for a jolly but will be a quick go around the local lanes a couple of hours max but will be kinda on the spot decision will post up here tho. And your not a million miles away I'm Lewsey/Houghton way
