LOLOL we have winches and people with a **** load more eperience than me... which is just as well... and if the Mrs did go into labour.... all we need is a lift to the hospital and someone with a bucket to catch the sprog as it barrels out in time for the recovery!
 
Hi Kev, think i'm more or less sorted out. Me and the family meeting up with Ryder on the Friday, have my pitch sorted out already. Bringing the Disco and all my recovery gear and a few spares i have put aside. Got Dan in his Frontera, one of my mates from Surrey also meeting with me and Ryder on the Friday, he also has a pitch sorted and will have some recovery gear. I've now got a working CB in the Disco, i'll also be bringing a small BBQ twin burner cooking ring and a few tools.

nah - a couple of strops on the arms and legs anna winch on the Ryder-let - dun in no time:D.

If yu are on the plains - yu can even find a birthing pool.

Time ter git this ere trip sortid.

On the basis there is no point in evrybody taking everything, it would be nice if you can decide what you want to take. There is no point in everybody taking a BBQ, as long as we have say 6 BBQ's betweeen us we should be fine.

Not every body has lots of tools, so no point in everyone packing a toolchest.

You will all need to bring your own food and drink. You will all need to bring your own recovery gear - if anybody doesn't have ropes/shackles make sure we know BEFORE we get out there.

By now everyone should have a pitch for Saturday night. If you haven't PM me I will send you the number for the camp site and you can make your own arrangements.

Some of you are going on Friday - you know who you are!! For those going on Saturday morning, the plan is to hook up at Fleet 8:00am, so make sure you are there no later than say 8:15am. We have a list of phone numbers, make sure you print off a copy in case you need to get in touch before we meet up.

You have details for the maps you need. You should by now know where the campsite is, we plan to get to the campsite by 9:00 - 9:30am, set up and then get out laning.

We will need to split into groups, at the moment I think we are likely to be 4 groups of 5. If possible it would be nice if there are at least 2 cars with CB, 1 car with winch, 1 experienced driver in each group. Sorry to sound like I'm getting in your face but sometimes you have to take a practical/common sense approach - we would like to see zero casualties - that's cars and people:eek:

Don't forget you are all driving for yourselves, nobody is responsible for you except you!

can you all please start to feed information back so we all know who is taking what coz uvverwize we'll 'av a bunch of motors struggling under a huge weight of unnecessary gear.

I will not be taking a BBQ coz I ain got wun.

I will be taking tools - standard socket sets 1/2 and 3/8 drive, some larger sockets just in case, breaker bar, crow bar, hammer, spanners and screwdrivers.

High volume, low pressure pump, big maglite, big rechargeable torch, medium rechargeable torch, 2xcamp lights(battery not gas).

Recovery rope/shackles. a small selection of nuts and bolts, some short lengths of timber. Jerry can - I'll be needin that.

The the obvious stuff - tent, sleeping bag, food, BEER, mobile phone, some cash, change of clothes.

You get the idea.

One 18 month old baby (For background noise while we are stuck)

One heavily pregnant wife (Just to add a little adventure to the weekend)

15 pairs fresh underpants (I hear these lanes can be serious!)

Did I miss anything out (No map yet but I plan to get one tomorrow)

Generator (ta to Gibbo Phil who is bringing it)

Bright halogen lamps on a stand in case we need to repair any vehicle on Sat Night.

BTW... we are taking a trailer. Just too much to fit in the motors. Anything you want to put in the trailer pleaselet me know so we can arrange collection/delivery

One last thing...

I know it is short notice but if anyone needs a complete CB rig and antenna, I have a contact who has a load of second hand ones and sells them cheap (£20-£25) ish. I'll be pleased to forward his contact details.

We're up for another night if you are!

MHM haven't forgotten. that's one of the reasons for the trailer!
 
OK I'll be taking my 90, working winch and a fixed CB plus 2 fixed channel hand helds for any of the group without cb's.

I'll load up my "Landy" tools enough for most jobs I always carry these anyhow but especially because a few of us are away Friday evening its nice to know we have enough stuff to keep us going. Lecky wire, connectors and crimping tool.

High lift, Spare Drive Belts, (Spare Rear Shafts and Drive members when they arrive, as mine are on the limit)

Self recovery gear, ropes, shackles, strops, ground anchor, Sledge hammer, Tirfor for anything serious plus a very crude straight tow bar.

Spare engine oil, ATF EP80. RTV silicone,

The the obvious stuff - tent, sleeping bag, food, BEER, mobile phone, some cash, change of clothes.

Ha hA ha ha Tapes???? I showed my kids a cassette tape and they wanted to know which museum I nicked it from! Makes me feel really old!
 
If there is anyone who needs memory cards for their camera. Let me know. I can get them at silly prices and this will be an opportunity for s **** load of photos, and a few video clips, which while great fun will fill the card very quickly.

I'll assume standard SD card unless you tell me otherwise.
