I was already looking at some training for newbies on behalf of GLASS, then the article suggesting it as part of a greenlaning initiative was published. The training part has had a lot of support.
So far I have arrange to pilot a half day course on the actual driving side. Based on the professional off road driving qualifications but tailored to laning. Delivered by professional trainers at an appropriate site with insurance.
Next we are looking at what else they might need to know. The following list has been suggested. Does anyone have any other ideas? Also does anyone have any good You Tube links. Good, bad or just beautiful scenery. It might make training session more interesting

2. Which of those routes can I drive without damaging my vehicle?
3. How do I contact other people that I can go with who I can trust not to take me on anything illegal or too difficult for me and my vehicle?

5. What essential equipment should I take (maps, tow ropes, food, clothing etc,)
6. whats all them levers for? (or buttons, if ya posh)
7. What size tyres do I need?
8. Is my Rav 4 / Freelander / Honda CRV suitable
9. Do I need a heavily modified vehicle with tractor tyres
10. Explain legal lanes, definitions ie; BOATs, restricted byways, signs, OS maps and symbols
