Oh no. We are supposed to be going around along some of this tomorrow. Will keep an eye out for knob's and pics if we find them.

Nice to be prepared for the state of the road though.

We passed one group yesterday who had obviously been 'having a lot of fun', a little red suzuki with the bonnet up and caked in mud and gold Disco with 'one life live it' stickers in the alpines.

We passed them and went down a steepish little hill, it looked like the area mentioned in some of the first pics, the byway went around to the left and over a little bridge but there were fresh track marks everywhere so we are guessing they had been going nuts down there and he got stuck and got water in the engine.

Then further along we came up to another ford and all we could see was the roof of a Rangie classic. He'd reveresed in to see how bad it was and got dragged off a little so they were winching him back out, but we could probably only see the top foot and half of the vehicle if that. So we just stayed where we were and had a brew brake before turning around.

For those that know it, the Luckington ford was just under 5 ft deep yesterday..

That ford is normally only 2' wide and appx 1' deep at low season, and it's in a gradual dip, so it makes for a deceptive crossing.

Thing is, anyone worth their salt would of realized the lay of the land if they just LOOKED or even consulted the OS map. The bridge that the ford goes over for walkers was just above water when we were there - and the water was pulsing as it went under - and had a VICIOUS undertow to it.

I'm really getting ****ed of people just tramping on and not checking the obstruction / making sure of legalities etc. It's one reason I had a break from the scene years ago - too much time bashing my head against a brick wall, so to speak.
