The previous owners of my lannie have wired in the fuses for some of the switches and the radio in the bit underneath the steering and dashboard :(

Getting this open seems a pain. I take all the bottom and side screws out but not release.
Do I have to undo the steering wheel as well! ???

The big bit of dash that's below the steerin' wheel is just a big cavity that's used fur channelin' yer air from yer heater box. The only places ye should see any wirin' is where the hazard / interior light switch is, behind the dash and in the middle where the radio usually sits.
Ye shouldn't really need to remove the steerin' wheel as the covers should come away with a bit of jiggery-pokery;)

you can take it all out with out removing the wheel, at least i did!

not quite sure what part ya gettin at but some parts wont come out before another is removed first, its frustrating but you'll get there!

I've been hearing a few fuses 'pop' (I've been uprating some of the switches) and I need to find where they are so I can fit a higher rated fuse.
I think they might be in the front engine compartment though as it's coming from either the dash area OR the area in front of that in the engine itself...
hmmm

Right then, here's some photies (no write up tho') of takin' yer dash apart....

Nice one blunder, I might give the upper dashboard a go tomorrow.
I've got some interior painting to finish first though :)
