Now the stupid politicians are going to give everyone a pension of £140 a week regardless of whether any contributions have been made or not you will be going to have a lot more of them:rolleyes: My hardworking Polish mate reckons he'll bring his mother and grandmother over just for the pension:eek:

Had the missfortune to go through Bradford last year, unless you have a turban or a burqua you just don't fit in anymore.:(

If it's any consolation it's ****ing down here in France too, but definately no sunny's:D

Yes but that is only in 2015 by then it won't be worth anything and the flat payment it is going to replace pension credits and other benifits that can now be claimed on top of a pension. Which for some (need i say mostly who) would at present come out at a lot more than £140.00 a week. It will save the government a fortune. One of the biggest fiddles that needs attending to is people bringing in their ageing dependents, who can without having paid a penny in tax or national insurance claim disibility living allowance or attendence allowance if they are over 65. Then the family claims carers allowance for grandma and grandad which pays for a nice Merc or BMW or even in some cases around here Lamborgini or Ferrari Etc. Needs to be sorted.

Simples, no contributions, no benefits. Not a UK national? Minimum 5 years full time employment and contributions record to qualify for a maximum of 1 years benefit.

UK pension is the lowest in Europe, when my French wife reaches retirement age her pension will be substantially more then mine, can't wait LOL:D:D:D

Sons inlaws live in Spain, apparently or so Dennis tells me, you don't get any state benifits there until you have paid Spanish tax for ten years and even then they are restricted. No wonder people are fighting to get into Great Britain. I can remember the days when me owd mother would send me out to the local store with a quid. I would come back with two loafs, 5lb of spuds, a lb of bacon, two dozen eggs and twenty Woodbines. Can't do that anymore. Too many bloody CCTV cameras.

And still with the quid in your back pocket no doubt:hysterically_laughi

You must be nearly as old as me, I can remember being sent down to the 6 lanes end chippy in Heckmondwike with a tanner for Cod & 2 pennorth. Bloody great piece of Cod and a sack of chips Mmmmmmmmm:D

Good old days mate never to return. Chips are around £2.00 now, in my day you needed a wheel barrow for two quids worth of chips. I've said it before on here, tell my grandkids all the time. Borrow ten bob off granny, gallon of 5 star Esso Golden in the old 500 Gold Star 3/9. To Blackpool, into Fun house 2/6. Spend a few hours goating around and tickling a few fillies. On way home Caunce St chippy fish and chips 1/4. Bottle (notice bottle) of Coke 10 pence, so good night out for 8/5 and change out of what everybody now knows as 50 p. Decimalisation killed us all off, kids got 240 penny bubblies for a quid before it, after it they only got 100, did it not ring a bell with anyone at the time?

I enjoyed decimalisation, earnt a bomb converting accounting machines and cash registers from sterling to decimal. Cleared off to Germany and Africa straight after so I didn't feel the pain!

Fixed i think. Even with the blue wire disconnected from the rf it still kept the becm awake, even if i parked in the middle of no where!! So i disconnected it all together, and hay presto after 2 mins it went to sleep!!! So it must be buggered. A new uprated one on the cards i guess. Still better than a becm repair.
