would still have another one if offered, and i am, there sending me a new one once they recieve my faulty unit. its booked by a courier to be picked up tomorrow, the company will get it on thursday so hopefully ill get a new one sent out by friday at the latest.

so should be getting a new one monday / tuesday time.

not that i dont like the unit, its great quality, plays all my AVI files, great picture, and i love the Freeview with it. 80 channels to choose from ! lol

cant wait to get it in now ! will be such a relief to get it finished !


See i know what im doing angus, glad you got those steering controls working, i know it doesnt make sense, but it works ! :p:p:p

hopefully some pictures to follow of my unit in place ! :D:D:D:D:D

Well I've figured it out, Primo is set on 800 screen size, mine is 480, slight difference then, so work is underway let see if this can be corrected.

At the moment I'm not able to get back out which is a small blessing, I'm having time off from the car!! Well sort of.... PC based at presnet, I will get back out on Saturday and sort them three wires out! Hippo you sure the blacks not ground?? haha

I'm really happy with the way it's turn out, sorting out all them wires was a mare but worth it, Hippo I was going to say run a route through IGO and set it away to show you the route but choose a city like London you will get to see the landmarks, but you can't!

I'd send them another mail and say you've checked the fuses etc and another unit works in the car. Can you have a replacement unit ASAP if this can't be done then a full refund or you'll submit a claim via EBAY and get your money back...... It's worked for me when someone sold me a bent PCU, he said it was the post I submitted a claim and got the full money back....

did you sort out the screen size mate ?

as i noticed mine is a little too big for the screen size :p

maybe you can send us an updated angus release with updated maps, poi and fixed resoulution ?

hippo - glad it's sorted mate, they look great units and yours is the one I will be going for all being well :D does angus realise these units are what thery call the HD units with 800 res screens??? ;) ;)

anguslives - well done on sorting the wiring and yep, i know i'll be last with this but by then you and hippo will have sorted all the probs and it'll take me about 5 minutes to install mine ;)

sasha - don't be put off by the wiring mate, should be just an iso adapter lead and 3 wires for the steering controls....

No wiring involved really
You just buy an adapter lead and you just plug your new stereo in

Only becomes alot of cables if you have the rear screens and reversing cameras etc...

When i installed mine it would have only took 15 mins if it wasn't broken.

Look in your manual it will have accepted rez size lists. Then tell me what it'll take. For the moment I've gave up with the 800 I'm a dab at IGO8 but Primo is set up differently, I'm having to read up on this as it's new to me.

But I did use the maps, poi etc from the new and add to IGO8 so I know at least I've got newer maps and all that now.

Your lucky if you get a unit your going to get it with an ISO (plug) so it's just removing your current head unit and putting the new one in, nothing like mine, I get a unit without an ISO as they normally fit for the make of car they are supplying better customer service and all that "apart from my cousin didn't bother or someone who works for him didn't bother" swine!

You'd be done in about 1 hour all in....

Well that may well support the Primo...... who loves me now bitch!

The one thing I'm suprised about is the maps, I'd have thought that with the unit being low in the dashboard I would have found it hard to navigate since we're all used to having suck units mounted on the windscreen but it's fine, the size of the screen is much bigger than my old unit and the instructions come through your speakers nice and loud so you don't miss anything....... The only thing I'd say is you do get a little bit of a glare on the screen if sunny, some units wouldn't have this problem I'd think perhaps I could look into some sort of guard to go around the sides and across the top? That would get rid of the problem.....Hummmmmm?

My iso adapter came today... £1.43 delivered, genuine autoleads, gotta love the bay lol trouble is too dark to go play so it'll have to wait... :(
 
Well you'll have to wait for the other gear, on my max upload for the month!! But given you've both yet to install anything, waiting for Daylight cos it's "dark" you can still use the one I sorted for now! (please insert evil laugh here) That is when you both pull ya fingers out!

No Green Monster, I've got loads of cash left in my "credit card haha" and I can still sell on more than what I've paid for it so nope I'm fine:clap2:
