Well I've made a start to finish!

Having problems with steering wheel control so going to take feed direct before wires enter ISO and see if that fixes the issue... Entered program screen and goes through set up then nothing, possibility that units isn't compatible or I'm using the wrong wires!?

Fingers crossed I figure this bit out!

Apart from that, it's ready to be fixed in and the trim back on.

For the record I also decided to run the camera wires under the carpet right down the middle of the car, so this involved lifting the rear seat and removing centre console, and feeding the cable under the carpet. under the rear seats the carpet isn't one complete piece it's different bits (as standard) (you'll see if you give it ago) tilt seats up for max room and exposing the carpet which is fitted underneath, drop the cable down at the point of the lifting hinge for base of the rearseat, put the seats back to normal position, then get a couple of fingers down behind the carpet at hinge part lift carpet up and forward, you can then feed the cable down to the floor, once that's done, you can lift the open part of carpet at handbrake, again get your hand down and pull through the cable, done!

out to do my egr bypass in a mo, rear mudflaps to go on, new shiney sidesteps as well but gotta make a nutsert fixing tool first for that

Sounds like fun!

Haven't a clue about hippo's unit!? It's possible something shorted out but you'd expect the rear fuse to have gone, that's why I was thinking about display not sitting right? I think he was beyond consolable yesterday, he might revisit the situation today.... If he knows someone with a test meter it would help!

Well I've stuck my Alloy trim back on since the heavy work is out of the way, it should get scratched with what's left to do, fingers crossed and all that.

I'll update with pictures later today, but one things for sure my screen background looks bloody great!

ooohh ya big tease.... looking forward to seeing the pics, quite like the sound of that ally trim you've got, i've got the standard champagne stuff and its scratched to bits so i'm toying with the idea of using some brushed steel effect vinyl i've got and wrapping all the bits with it, a job for warmer days tho...anyway, off ya trot and get it done lol

I had problems getting my steering buttons working, but got there in the end.

my unit has 3 cables to connect in which i connected all of them to the cars remote steering cables.

theres a ground (0V) SWC 1 and SWC2 cables.

at first i assumed the black in the cars wiring was the ground, but later on after testing i found out it wasnt.

the black/Red cable is ground

the white/black cable is Switch 1

and the black cable is switch 2.

then if you only have 2 cables then you would connect it to just the ground and switch one cables.

although i dont think all of the buttons will work if only connecting 2 cables.

how many different combinations can you set on your unit for your steering controls ?

mine has 6 but you can only use 4 as theres only 4 switching combinations available on the steering wheel.

so if you only connect 2 cables i think you will either only have volume control or track change.

i might be wrong. :D

OK here we go!

I'm proud to attach the completed works of Angus the Lives!

Attached for your viewing Pic1. Reattachment of dash trim.

Pic2. Rear view of headrests and newly fitted DVD/GPS/ unit.

Pic3. Powered on, another one of my own designed screens displayed:D

Pic4. Shot of centre console, showing attached trim.

Pic5. Radio setting, sorry it's a bit of a blur!!

Pic6. Night time shot, trip details of GPS unit.

Pic7. Picture of settings screen in IGO, having just installed I've still gotta tweek the system to how I want it, but it's in and working!

Pic8. bow out with another shot from screen, this is now in CD mode, If I thought on I would have press the screen to display control tabs....

Ooooo and reverse cam, dam forgot to take a picture of that, guess I'm not finished taking pictures just yet, but I am for the night!

So that's it for now, no more pictures, but I'm glad it's all fitted, so the way it's working 3 independent films can be watched and the back two units have a further choice to switch from the front to own control DVD or jump to SD.

I've still got issues with this, not sure if I've got to get and adapter for the wheel or I'm programming the unit wrong! I've tested the wires and I'm using the right ones, I've checked and you def only have to attached key1 and keygrd for it to work, did you use all three?

So what set up did you use on yours then??

So is this right.....

These cables here are the LR originals!

the black/Red cable is ground

the white/black cable is Switch 1

So what's this one?

and the black cable is switch 2.

My dvd unit has 3, grd key 1 and key2.

I thought the wheel control only has two cables yes? Black/red & White Black, are you saying there's a third?

Last pictures then!!

OK so here's what was missing, Control display on screen whilst in DVD/CD mode.

Picture for all the unit's showing the same film.

Reverse camera, taken at 20.25 at night (pitch black).

Shot of film from front unit.

I think that's it?

yes on mine theres 3

look close on the iso connector, on the bottom row of pins, there should 3 wires in one row, 2 of which should be the steering you used, one more is blk which is the steering ground wire.

Camera are cheap as chips, start around £5.00, I never bothered with LED units just standard night cam, it works fine as you can see, all I would say is get a long lead 5m isn't anywhere long enough, and also have some wire the same length to run from the unit to the reverse light, my unit needed it not sure if other do?

Wires under the carpet is way quicker than taking off trims around the side, you'll see when you do it yourself!!

I'm gonna have another look at ISO can remember a black wire, so many wires so little time!!

OK, I'm gonna have a look through the week then, since you got yours to work, tell me which wires you connected to which, if you don't mind then I'll copy:D

So

From steering wheel: black/red =
From steering wheel: white/black=
From steering wheel: black=

Include key numbers on above too!!:D:D
