Can I ask a completely daft question to those who are putting pipes from the hot water system in their landies.

Isn't the water system under pressure, as in remove the radiator cap and you get burned by steam.

If so what would happen if you got a leak or had an accident which damaged the pipe. Wouldn't this release steam and be dangerous.

stem and hot water - dangerous? possibly , if yu stuck your hand in it! :(. DONT! wait for it to cool down.

These two

ive got ideas on me series tratter for under and behind seat heating basically ive noticed underfloor central heating is just a small bore pipe woven back and forth across the room with hot water running through

so my idea is to recreate this using 10mm copper pipe on the bulkhead tee'ed into the engine water system with a shut off tap to be able to turn it off in summer ( huh summer whats one of them )

My series 2a didn't have a heater when I bought it and me being a tight Yorkshireman I wasn't prepared to pay stupid money for a crappy 2a heater.
So I extended the heater pipes using copper pipe so it ran at the bottom of the windscreen and then down the bottom of the dash and back to the heater outlet, there's no blower but it gives good heat and demists the screen good enough, plus as an added bonus you can warm your hands on the pipe! :D :D

Yes it would be dangerous if the pipe split due to an accident but a series 2a ain't exactly safe anyway with a solid steel dash ;)

You could route the pipes so you got the heat in the cab but the pipes were away from you in the event of an accident. I wanted them near the screen so routed them there and the heater matrix is inside the cab on a 2a anyway and if you've been in one you'll probably have been covered in hot water/steam when the bloody thing leaks anyway! :D
