There is a very easy fix for most of the defender water leaks, its one not in the official water ingress manual, and it work most of the time. Its simple really just dont drive them when its raining :D. If its only leaking water inside then you dont really have any worries:) mine drips on to your right foot I drove it up to the Lake district last year and it rained for about half the journey good job I had waterproof boots on ;).

Took the 110 for a drive. First right hand turn and a mass of water come in just above passenger door. I think it ran along the gutter and found a route in between the door and roof. Then the dash lights went out and then the radio stopped working (no signal).
I know I shouldn't complain, especially when Geoff has a lot bigger issues, but.... I'm finding this car difficult to love.

Mine does this on the drivers side and drips, well runs all over me leg, you might find the roof window is leaking and it sits on the roof ledge inside then when you brake it all runs down, it's one of those things with a fender they all leak :D you can try and fix the leaks or like the rest we just live with it:D;) you'll get used to it mate:D

Looks OK, but I need one for a 200 tdi (fits on the NS).
Says they sell them but nothing listed on their shop, so I've messaged them.
Would prefer one without an exposed flexible liner but at that price its a no brainer.

Look on mm-4x4.com they have them for the 200 £68 plus vat that is what mine was originally but I put a stainless pipe on and Southdown top.

It's the top windows most the time, I haven't got them and mine doesn't leak at all, not till you open the door anyway then there's the obligatory waterfall on your leg!

Mine seems to get under the roof lining as soon as a brake it drips out the roof lining haha!! I can also see through the corner of my drivers door as it doesn't meet at the top I'm now learning just to accept the doors **** like **** and It leaks! My 2009 iveco daily also leaks so its not just defenders lol

One atb and one locker, but not normal ones and surprised they came in ashcroft boxes because there made by quaife, just waiting for the shafts and cv's then will spend some time pinning the diffs and setting them up, then time for a little play and see how they do

Thanks, I will fit in yourself. If you have things to do next week I can just get on with it if you don't mind me in the workshop by myself.

Might able to help for a few hours.
Give me a bell when you know what day.

Thanks Nick, don't think it's a difficult job just a bit time consuming having to remove rad etc, hardest bit will be getting the pulley bolt out as you have to try and stop crank turning, will have to make something up before hand.

sure we can quickly knock something up on the day, quite often making locking tools have pillar drill, welder gillotine small pressbrake etc should be quite easy

oh dear, snapped a shock earlier today and later on in the day my truck started running lumpy and even slower (like it was mis firing) - popped the bonnet and a strange knocking noise! - so I'm off the road (only had it a bloody day) possibly an injector apparently! had AA man recover me home :( and now its waiting further investigation...

this might be the reason for my max speed of 60mph (also it might be something to do with the egr thing, that hasn't been blanked yet)

rocker valve clearance??

theres no smoke coming from exhaust, so maybe NOT the injectors!

maybe the cam belt has slipped a couple of teeth

any other ideas??

From what you explained on the phone, that chuffing sound seems like a valve not closing at the right time so poss cam belt slippage.....

Geoff just had a look at workshop manual that crank pulley bolt is torque to yield so will need a new one when we change the pulley!
