I've done stanage many times but not in the snow ;) it's bad enough in the middle of summer :p anyone got a portable CB ? ;)

Not portable, got two fixed ones, however, also have 100's of licensed business radios which i always have some of in the Landy, so, can always give you one of those so you can at least communicate, all be it not hear everything on the CB.

This was on the way to last years big Derbyshire run (the snowy one!)

i dont mind an earlier start either. Im just happy to be getting out after 9 months. :D

looks like i have some work to do on mine to be ready. bring it on.

Yep, I'm a keeno for an early start, I like to meet at first light at this time of year, at the best out of the day and if its snowy you really want to see that sunrise!

Get the brews on at the meet point at 7ish then get cracking at first light :)

Early start will be great for me.cant wait.when we get the start point il be over there early as.have done a few days in rain and sun but never snow so looking forward to it

In short, yes. We use CB's to talk to each other within a few hundred meters most of the time, not over several Km's. If you were going to use it daily to talk to people around your town, then you'd want to spend more money on something a bit better, but, as you'll use it a few times a month on a Sunday there is no point spending loads of money on a CB!

Thunderpole have been kicking around for ages doing CB's, so, although i've never used one, i can't see you having many problems with the CB you've posted up.

Best get seat covers then :censored: :D
done stanage loads scince then, just the first time i ever did it was in 6-8 inch of snow  ,nothin like breaking in a noob slowley is there!
shame its closed to us as it is a stunning view up there esp with a covering of snow!

Seeing as I have time, thought I'd do some extra planning regards groups and vehicle placement in said groups.

There needs to be a mix of prepared vehicles and standard vehicles in each group so the prepared vehicles can help the standard ones, especially when we're down a tight icy lane and the only two cars that can help are the ones directly in front or behind.

So.
