When most of us reversed off the bottom off hollingsclough woman from farm had made her way to the bottom of lane & hiding behind wall like Japanese sniper kept popping up n writing reg numbers down !! I stopped asked her if she wanted me to read mine out for her so she got it right !! Made her very shy when got mi phone out to take her pickie !! Lol we did get close to her wall though !! Wish we had come down it straight after lunch !!

I've only had autos for my daily drive for nearly twenty years. Wouldn't consider a manual. A stick gearbox is for the weekend toys only lol

Never had an auto myself. Drove a few, when i was in a job with company cars, but never wanted one!
Driven my bro-in-laws Jeep a few times and that was pretty good, but still prefer manual. I'll only get an auto if I have to, I think!
Plus, Juliet doesn't like the heavy clutch on the Disco, so that stops her from using it too much ..

They should really put a voluntary one way system on it, it's long enough that if you met someone half way it would be a right pain in the arse and those steps really aren't designed to be driven up. With Hollingsclough being as "hot" as it is already with the locals I think it would be a sensible compromise.
I was impressed with the guys that they all thought it best to leave it, despite being a great lane and one they would have managed and enjoyed, the locals clearly weren't happy and reversing off was the best plan.

There's always trips being organised on here. I'll probably post one up for the end of February / first week in March to tie in with moving house and going skiing

Paul,do not have your neck done even if they say they can,i know from bitter experience that it does not work,i know this to my cost.

As it happened they didn't do any surgery today .. just pulled, prodded and gave me feckin agony and some paracetamol!! Pulled the joint apart whilst x-raying it ... For now still can't drive properly, drove home using the clutch only twice .. and that was when I reversed at home ..
Going back within 3 months to have 'proper' surgery.
I dunno about the neck. I had to give up Archery 'cos I can't hold me left arm out and look along it without pain, similarly if I'm laning for a full day the shoulder, biceps and forearm areas start to tingle (nerves trapping) and I get some not inconsiderable pain for a week or so afterwards! Have to be careful in bed 'cos if I crick the neck I get a month or longer of progressively worse pain until it subsides .. no matter what physiotherapy exercises I do to alleviate it.

tain't funny is it bud.this is the stuff i take to TRY and ease the pain,does not work to good though.google FENTANYL.
. plus morphine sometimes if it gets really bad,this just tops up the fent.
