I've a 1976 Range Rover that was starting but now won't. I've replaced the following:
Engine Bay Wiring Loom - It was old and needed replacing anyway.
New Starter Motor - As above
New Electronic Distributor - replaced old reconditioned unit.
HT Leads and Coil
Alternator has been tested - All fine
Battery has been tested - All fine
The car turns over strongly but won't fire and when a Spark Reader is attached to No1 Plug and Lead, the spark is weak or VERY intermittent.
If I put a wire from Coil + directly to Battery + and turn engine over with ignition key, it fires straight away and runs.
Coil + reading 13 volts with ignition at 1st position with dash lights on. When RR is turned over, volts drop to 10.9.
Any ideas?
