If it was bought from a garage then they must give you a 3 month warranty. They must then be given the opportunity to put the defects right before a refund will be considered.
I believe its actually 6 months Bob. Although they are reluctant to tell folks that, they prefer to offer 3 months as if thats a fantastic offer....

I hope you remembered to SORN it.im beginning to think all garages take the ****.....ive been using the same local garaged for 30 odd years .... they do the mot , i do the easy bits then they have back for the crawly underneath bits and retest.... late nov the disco failed on two spots of rust on the cills , one worn track rod end and the drivers seat insecure. all the seat needs is a couple of bits of angle iron bolted to the sides and down through the floor, the welding should be a couple of hours tops.... normally id have done it meself but this year i just havnt had the time to spare..... disco went in on weds to be done ..(garage too busy to do it before).. 4 days later they still havnt finished.... it was sat on the ramp all day friday .... i passed by several times during the day , never saw anyone near it.
upshot is weve been one vehicle down all this month cos the mot is out...its not insurmountable cos we run a fourtrak as well but just a pain i the butt, its getting to the point where i may as well not retax it till january
Buying a car is always a friggin lottery, I would buy an older Ford until the Mrs gets the knocks and bangs out of her system.Trust me, I know, my Mrs wrote off a Peugeot 205 with 1800 miles on the clock shortly after passing her test.Garages now adays are just... lol.
I'm ringing this one Monday.
maybe next time i'll buy from a main dealer instead.
Can't afford to buy new, Unfortunately though, It may be a requirement :/
My Mrs is learning to drive, and wants a cheap run around car. I don't know what to do with this, Buy cheap korean thing brand new, Or older fiesta / corsa and run the risk of it being ****...
It's really knocked my confidence in the human race...
I have only owned one Volvo, it was low mileage and only 2 years old, the most troublesome, unreliable car I have ever had.
I once paid £25 for an Austin Metro that I kept for 4 years, a much better car than the Volvo in all respects, the Metro was a heap of junk, what does that tell you about the Volvo
Quick update,
The garage today rang me, And got strait on the offensive and advised they would have repaired the car if i wasn't a child and had rang them like a man instead of sending a letter.
Then they said i wouldn't get a penny for my car, and he would rather get rid of the business first.
Then he said he wouldn't repair my car anyway....
So, i have a recording of the conversation, Which he is aware of.
I have two options now really, 1) is go get a solicitor 2) No win No Fee type of place.
I suppose i stand a better chance with a solicitor than a NWNF place, But what do you guys think?
a Jerry can a matches spring to mind
