Help! I currently cant get my bonnet open on my disco 4, when I pull the lever the drivers side releases and I can move the bonnet slightly, but it appears the near side catch is still engaged. I’ve tried the long screwdriver approach but no success. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

This happened to a mate of mine. It cost him a fair amount of money and I think the garage had to take a headlight out. But I'm not sure if it wasn't the other way around, i.e. the other side opened.

Can you lift the bonnet enough to get grill out?
Cable runs on inside of slam panel any access to outer leading to d/s good tug may do trick good luck, would replace it and cables

Managed to get the grill of today, so now have a view of the catch, will try cable and potentially remove the latch tomorrow.

Nice one half way there, should be able to get cable between catches unclipped and get a good pull on it, while someone pulls lever
If you get a chance let us know what was wrong with the old catches as I am genuinely interested.Update! Bonnet now open!!!
Managed to access the latch bolts and undone
Pulled cables out and opened latch from underside. New catches arriving tomorrow

Will do. Hopefully get a better look in daylight tomorrow
Early signs, I would say a blend between the cable not being aligned (appeared to fall out very easily on one side) and gunk in the latch mechanism.
