Sliders designed, cut and fabricated by myself all fitted. Not the easiest thing to fit alone!
Still need a little tweaking to get the fit bang on but they fit, first time so I'm happy!
Got some stainless treadplates to sit on top, break up the bulky design a little. Will be painted bronze to match the wheels
Also swapped the wheel nuts to black and ordered some black HD drive flanges. Saves me having to paint them and a mates buying them.

Just realised it's been about a year! Can't believe how much I got done in a year, considering last time it took almost 5 
It's still not finished but is a Land Rover ever finished
Still though very happy with how it's looking. Definitely been a therapeutic process.

She’s a honey. Love that so many bits are custom and made by yourself. Can’t believe that’s been a year - seems a couple months since you started this thread 
I can’t really remember but didn’t the cage save you from GBH in the double cab? Guessing that’s why you caged this one? There’s a company doing camel style cages for d1s and I’d like one if my old bus turns into the main shootmobile.

I know right. Time certainly has flown!
More than GBH, death according to the Fire Brigade, also why this one has an internal cage as well. Little bit extra.
Defenders just have no structure to them, I'd never own another without at least a front roll hoop.

Been doing some checkovers after cleaning the engine down the other day. Found a few issues....
EGR/Inlet gasket has blown. Annoying but easy, explains the excess smoke and lower mpg
4!! Loose nuts/studs on the exhaust manifold
which explains the lower than normal boost. Nipped them up for now but bought new studs, nuts and gasket so will change the lot.

Few bits today 
Coloured matched tread plates for the rock sliders
Test fit the hi-lift cubby & latch. All fits well! Also secured the drawers down and added some cargo tracks - no pics as covered in ****.
The carpet I bought isn't great quality so that's probably going to get changed some point soon.
Finished the Empire Spare Wheel Braiii
Not to toot my own horn or anything but much higher quality that the Front Runner version. 3mm over 2mm. 6mm stainless legs instead of mild/ali
Also much larger

Modified ITG so it actually has a proper seal.
Can't believe ITG let them leave the factory like this. Just doesn't seal against the airbox. Somehow Terrafirma and the other cheap brands get it right
Changed the EGR/Inlet Gasket + RTV. No more boost leak! Smokes reduced. So that's far better.

What’s the advantage of them filters?
Does the foam come away from the inner so you can shake the dust off?
I use a K&N type open to the elements & looking at changing

Better flow, reusable. I was finding it difficult to find decent paper ones without the enourmous restrictive metal cage.

Not me, I was there last year.
It was burning hot and very 'club' orientated rather than many 'manufacturers' or interesting things on show.
I doubt it will be as hot this year but I bet the content will be just as sparse.
it's also in a quite remote location, very few hotels or B&B's nearby. Ideal for the club enthusiasts who either sleep in thier cars or take a tent.
