Any tips on gettin me propshaft bolts undone?

Am tryin ter change me front output shaft oil seal, but I can't get me fookin propshaft bolts undone.
yer can't get a socket or ring spanner on em, cause the UJ yokes are in the way, so yer ave to use 2 open-ended spanners. the fookin things are very tight and the open-enders are just roundin off the nuts (despite being a good fit).

am I missing a trick?
anyone got any tips?

ave gorrit jacked up and ave tried a 3/8 socket too.
dunt matter what (rotational) position the prop is in, still can't get a ring spanner or socket on.
could I have non-standard UJ's?
 
Had me props off yesterday Trewy, Ah used a 14mm socket on an extension bar. ye should be able to get a 14mm combi spanner on there to. Try turnin' the prop so's ye can get the socket on (the top ones might be a bit easier to get at). Ah don't think ye need to worry about puttin' a spanner on the bolt as they shouldn't turn cos they're right against the flange.;) :D
 
Aye, undo diff end first. I use a stubby 9/16" spanner and a standard 14mm ring spanner. Can drop a shaft, change UJ's and wang it back in about 45 mins ;)
 
failing that use heat, a grinder with a 1mm cutter disc or a cold chisel and a lump hammer

cos that what it took me yesterday to do the same thing on the very last nut n bolt

ave tried with the suspension fully compressed and fully extended - slightly better fully compressed, but still can't get nowt on.

Reet, you want flat spanners, quite slim profile - I've got a little stumpy Britool one that you stick on the nut - might require some persuasion with the universal persuasion tool. Thin flat 14mm ring on the bolt and turn the bolt - yes, I said turn the bolt. If the other end of the prop is free, it can be a bit easier to manipulate it into place.

got the diff end off no probs.
then, with great difficulty, I could hammer a socket onto the nuts at the T/F box end. It then took a 2ft breaker bar and all my strength to shift em.
It seems that the nuts at the diff end are 14mm and the T/F box end are 9/16 (they're certainly a different "fit" on the spanner and different threads). I think that was part of the problem.
3 done, 1 to go.

I put a full set of new 9/16" ones when I did my props last summer. The old bolts are perfect for spring seat retainers when you shear them off trying to change yer springs ;)
