I don't think I have made any factually inaccurate statements about my P38 but, members clearly do not like my factual account of my failure experiences. But, I think we've done that topic to death so, let's not go over than ground again. I don't have enough life left in me for another round of that entertainment.You aint been here long. It does sound like you bought a duffer, and used a garage that doesn't do the jobs properly. Both mine are rather reliable. The only exceptions are things that fail on all cars at some point.

You could be right but, there's no way to wind back the clock to prove either way. Despite all my problems, I would still rather own a P38 than a lot of other cars, especially as we're all being nudged to go electric, which I hate. They're just 'emission elsewhere' vehicles and will prove worthless because they're a serious fire hazard and uneconomic to maintain and repair.
I don't like U bolts on exhausts, much prefer the clamp type or, even better flange joints.

I did Basingstoke to Langley on the stops, again no problem albeit a bit uncomfartable.
