I've got 7 studs in the engine side that fit through the bell housing to help line it up - must be the spigot bearing stopping the input shaft entering the crankshaft...do the threaded bar or better still long bolts with the heads cut off. (they slide thru the gear box holes better.)

The plate is lined up perfect with the spigot bearing - so it must be the bearing stopping it from going in??if your that close what did you use to line the clutch up??
I have one of these and it works perfect everytime.
iv'e never got my 200 to just pop back together and i've had the lump out 5 or 6 times now, everytime ive had to use threaded bar to guide it in and once had to do up the nuts on the bar to pull it together.Yep starting to feel like i'll be landyless for a while!!

you might prise it out or just chisel a split in it with a small flat screwdriver,it's very soft and will just split and pull out.Whats the best way to remove the spigot bearing from the crankshaft???

Yep did that first before i installed the clutchJust a thought but when you have your clutch plate back out try it on the gearbox shaft just in case you've been supplied with the wrong one, do this if only to eliminate one possible cockup !!!

not forced but just wouldn't do it on its own,i found filing a tiny bevel on the i/d of the spigot bush helps.mine have never gone straight in but i never had to do that
