That makes sense. The R380 was named for a reason. My manual diesel is way better than the auto so I imagine the 4.0 v8 is quite lively.

Might be worth keeping an eye out for an MoT failure one and keeping it for spares. The engine would swap over but you'd need the flywheel and bell housing too.

My V8 did 18.7 on Petrol and the EQUIV of 29mpg on GAS.
So it is in reality just as economical, and before anyone says "diesel is more frugal or reliable" ya don't buy a RR and expect reliability + The Range Rover was born and earn't its reputation offroad with the venerable Rover V8, Lucas electrics not withstanding..

I did when the rear brake pad flew out on the way home and the gearbox stuck in 4th at 10mph.
Oh and the numerous bird shíts on it..
Plus a faint wiff of Jizz.

Never felt my diesel was lacking except a few times towing up exceptional hills.
