Due to A-level revision and other commitments, Im afraid this is it until the start of the summer unless I have a free weekend and maybe manage to get a few small jobs done :(

Thanks for all the comments so far, and see you soon :D

Good luck with your A - levels mate but don't over do it! A healthy dose of graft on the landy will do wonders :)

Timing belt today, also known as break from revision. Also as it's half term :)

Lots of cleaning but looks much better. Just waiting for camshaft o-rings then the engine can go back together and maybe then back in :)

Well done. Just a minor observation. I realized that you used an 88 degree C thermostat. A 200tdi uses an 82 degree C thermostat.

Were the re-trim kits made by Britpart? if so, you may want to use a different glue. I did mine exactly 4 years ago and the fabric on the bases lifted off barely a month later. I left it as is mind you and they're still perfect 4 years down the line. I also took an oath that I'll never fit a re-trim kit again. My fingers hurt for 3 days after!

Does it make a difference that mine is a disco 200tdi? It was just the part number I got from the book.

I'll keep an eye on the glue but it seems like a good stick at the moment. Anything was better than the old seats :p My fingers still hurt now!

Got the bulkhead footwells painted ready to put the engine in but I've realised there's more work before it goes back in. So unfortunately, it will probably be June before it goes in. Also got around to getting the bulkhead secured on as with the new footwells in, it didn't line up so a bit of persuasion and the bulkhead is now bolted properly.

Got the front of the engine rebuilt with new waterpump. Turned the engine around so I could get to the rear crank oil seal. Also managed to get the car out in the sun for the first time since last year :)

Got them from paddocks. I think the part numbers are NRC7387 and NRC7704 but check that those are the right ones. They're not cheap at £15 each but i'm pretty sure they weren't britpart

Going back to the point about where all the oil on the back of the engine comes from, I expect it's the rocker cover seal. The seal goes a bit crisp over time with all the heating and cooling it goes through and doesn't fill the gap as well as it should. A new one isn't usually too dear, or I've given mine a new lease of life by taking it off and giving both sides a smear of gasket sealant.

Not much to report at the moment, I had an afternoon spent on the car the other day but having to revise for exams. Got the inlet and exhaust manifold off and started to clean the engine. Not sure whether to paint it or leave it when I've wire brushed it? Once the cleaning is done, it just needs the rear oil seal doing and then it can go back in :)

Also, was doing another coat on the chassis and had some paint left over so I thought I'd see what it looked liked rollered on the body, I don't think it looks to bad. But then it was dark when I took the photo :p
