If the mainshaft and intermediate gears need replacing then I wouldn't bother due to the cost. Luckily, mine didn't
Gasket set :£10
Flange : £7
Intermediate shaft : £23
Crossdrilled input gear :£54
Diff gear set: £50
Various bearings: £70
Circlips: £5
Total: £219
There may be some extra cheap bits that you might need but those are the main things that I replaced. As I said, if you need the main gears, for an extra £225, you may as well get ashcroft to rebuild it.
Yeah ive been comparing costs recently, ive got a good disco transfer box which i was thinking of just giving it a new input gear, and then ive got the original box off my defender which i think might be knackered. i bought the disco box as a replacement but now im thinking it would be worthwhile rebuilding both because at the end of the day i could sell one after and make a little money back on it
