I’m hoping that someone will have an ingenious idea for mounting a cb antenna to vehicles with roof tents that provides a good signal all round. I’ve tried the standard mounting on the rear but the antenna coil is obstructed by the tent. There lots of discussion about ground planes etc but not much about good fitting locations with a roof tent so any ideas/products gratefully received

Depending on the range you require..
I have a small antenna on the drivers wing by the wind screen. Only put it there as most of the branches are in the passenger side.

Have seen some on the front bumper
Mounted to the mirror arms
Rear mount by the reflectors, piece of flat plate.

And I do some times run a lot of watts/burner through the cb.just make sure the antenna is rated .

What anntenna you using then?

I’m not sure what you mean by running watts through the cb. I’m using a thunderpole whip
Standard cb uses 4watts of power,I have a box that puts out 200watts(used to do a lot of cb use)
The thunder pole whip is long so up the rear of the motor is the safest place.

Are you just using the cb to communicate on lanes?

Something like this, but less rusty!

Lands and when overlanding. Relatively short distances but experiencing issues with the vehicle in front of receiving me when mounted on the back
