Been out for a quick blatt around town in the mini. :)
It always makes me smile.
Oil leak sorted it seems. :)
Worried a bit about over-fuelling and bore-washing the engine, but hard to say without an AFR gauge fitted.
Nearly time for afternoon Coffee. :D
I've had more than ten Minis, gave up counting
I've only ever had one that ran with light brown plugs and it burned an exhaust valve out.
If you're anywhere from light grey to black without soot then it'll be fine :)

I have an excess of soot on all plugs.
I will pull all 4 tomorrow and take a picture (hopefully a decent one) to show y'all.
I have a set of BPE5 plugs I could put in to see if they stay cleaner as they run hotter, but the book does say BPE6's for a 1275.
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. :)

Just a thought...
On a non standard engine throw the reference books away :)

Well I would agree with you entirely. The spiel from the raffling org said it was all "souped up" with a stage 2'd head but when I got in touch with the previous owner directly before me he said it was a standard 1275 Metro lump in a Morris Mini Minor 1000 Shell and not a stage 2 head etc. etc. Which I why I have been veering towards trying to treat it as "standard". But I take your point. :)

Mornin
Happy Fathers day (is it today?)
Some beer and a card appeared in my kitchen while I was out last night anyway 😊
Cloudy bright here, just sold a wood vice, got another and a large proper one left to sell.
GF bringing a bacon roll / bap / muffin / barm or whatever you call it, think a bap is a shoe down Wiltshire :p
Have a lovely day all :)

Morning All. :D
A decent nights kip but then the NDN resumed his DIY building works at 08:56. He is hammer & chiselling out masonry. The noise travels straight through the ground and up our side-wall. :(
Looks like a nice day out there, coffee required, BBL.
Have a lovely day. :D
What he is doing would be illegal over here. On a Sunday you can only mow your lawn in the morning. Can't use powertoools at all.
We have to watch it as we often want to use my big machine etc over what the frogs think is lunchtime i.e. 12 till 2 O'clock on a Weekday or a Saturday.;)

So not even an MG Metro engine!!
No wonder the power is lower than mine was.
Raffling lot should watch it as regards Trades Description Act. :(

Standard 1275 will go really well with the right diff, 3.4 is best all round
Have fun :)

Well the weather is well iffy here, thunderstorm early this morning, followed by us being in the cloud and now there are intermittent downpours.
W's tum is playing her up so we aren't going up to the do at the "lac", if it clears up we may go up later on for a drink.
Have a nice day peeps.:):):)

Same here tis drizzle rain off out to get some food shopping, hopefully we come back to better weather I was planning
