Looking at your vid, I'd be inclined to look at the CPS carefully, personally I would put it on a scope and see what the output is doing.

As long as you leave the mount in place, I think you should be OK assuming it's in the correct place to start with.before I remove the sensor...
lock the flywheel with pin (obvs)
but, do I need to use LRT-12-122 shouldn't I be ok so long as I don't move the bracket just the sensor?? or would you recomend I just but one and do it as instructed in RAVE?

No need to lock the flywheel but worth rotating to see if any pins are bent or missing.
You could replace the centre section and see what you get, if you can get hold of a good one. Personally i would go for a complete known good or reconned pump. Obviously something is causing the quantity servo to oscillate, could be a failing timing solenoid if the modulation is bouncing around. But that is not in the centre section. A diesel specialist could maybe tell you. Where are you maybe someone could point you to one.
I live in St Helens but work in Manchester so anyone North West really
in a previous job I used to deal with Diesel Jones in Manchester, but not spoken to them for a few years now, might be worth a call later see what they suggest
thanks, will have a look at the pins
the backet has enough crud on it to make me believe it's never ever moved?
DO NOT remove the bracket, only the sensor from the bracket.
Thanks, thought so
why does RAVE tell yout to remove bracket anyway??
You need a special tool to set the bracket so the sensor has the correct air gap. RAVE will surmise the fitter has that tool. Unless you carefully mark it's position do not remove it.
It's covered in crud and unless the pins on the flywheel are bent or missing I see no reason for me to move the bracket![]()
It would be interesting to get hold of the dimensions of the setting tool.![]()
I'll forward if I have to buy![]()
You would have thought they would have been put on the net by now but i can't find them anywhere. Pretty simple to make one if i had the dimensions.
really you only need to know the air gap? as it would just be sensor dimensions + gap?
noticed bubbles in the clear pipe from filter to FIP
Bleed it.
have done, must be air leaking in from filter, lines or lift pump :-(
