Thanks for that NI, The bloke at the garage said it will cost 35 quid which is a lot less than I thought it would be. One thing that bothered me was that he said these cars dont have an actual gasket but has a paste that you put all over and it dry's and creates a gasket, does this right? Thanks

Ok, the service tech says it's in the well of plug one and he thinks it's coming from the rocker cover!

In Nottingham mate, just short of money at the minute with being layed off and got the MOT in 4 weeks lol

I took it there as it is just down the road and I thought it was just a plug issue so they could change the oil etc and do the few bits and change the plugs. They gave me a sheet with faults and said it was flooded with oil and they had to drain it before doing anything. The car is back with me...

Thanks for the info Edge, it started about a week ago with a little chugging and loss of power, it's always started ok though! Over thecweek it's gradually got worse so it's gone in for a service thinking it might just be a dodgy plug. Will this Cam cover gasket cost me much to buy/ get fitted ?

This is what they have wrote..... Oil leak on engine + no1 plug contaminated.

Im 99.9% sure he said the well, I can ring them in the morning to get confirmation! Could the well cause the mis firing ?

I think they meant the well it sits in was full of oil, it drives like its missing, not always but it is getting worse, after the service today at kwikfit they said they had to drain it before doing anything but its driving ok now so i presume it will just come back in over a few weeks...

Okie Dokie mate, Well at least thats something!! Ill keep topping it up and try to make it last a few weeks as i think its going to need a new exhaust before the mot next month lol

Hi guys, I thought I would update you all and see if you guys have any idea where I should go from here !! My 1.8 was juddering so took it for a service as advised, I was told that plug 1 was flooded with oil which would explain the juddering whilst driving !! My issue is now ..... what has...

That does seem to be what happens, I can be driving then when pressure is applied it goes juddery for a little then picks up again

Not close then lol .... I had the HG done about 6/7 months ago so I would hope it isnt that and I also had the clutch done about 5 months ago ..(not had much luck lately lol) had the brakes done at the same time as the HG.

It was serviced about 6/7 months ago when i had the engine redone. It is due another but was waiting for my Tesco clubcard vouchers to come through to get one done with then hahaha. Im in Nottingham mate :)
