    Rattle after fitting new brakes?

See my thread, same problem. Checked with Mintex, they do an anti-rattle clip which fits between the crossbar and the pad. I'm going to try them out.

Clicking brake pads, outside pad on both front wheels.

Definitely correct pads. Checked with Mintex. Apparently they sell some Spring anti rattle clips to fit the Defender, ordered some to try out

Clicking brake pads, outside pad on both front wheels.

The outside pad on both front wheels is being dragged by the disc a few millimetres until it clicks very loudly against the locking pin. The inner pad doesn't move. It sounds for all the world like duff cv joints, which is what I thought it was, took a wheel off to investigate, cv's perfect...

1991 110 CSW Salisbury Diff freeplay??

I'd have a close look at the A frame ball joint and mounting bushes. Test with a long breaker bar to overcome the weight issue. I had a big knock from as I thought, my salisbury diff, bought a complete new axle, the fitter said" by the way, did you know your A frame ball joint was...

Been a member of various forums since 2002. I've had 2 V8 110's, a 200tdi bought new in 1992, several series vehicles, a Puma 2.2 tdci XS Utility which I have just sold, currently resurrecting my ex Royal Marines 110, which I rebuilt in 2002 with a 300tdi and an R380. I think the chassis, one...

    Defender 2.2 tdci kangarooing

I believe there was an upgrade to the engine management system in 2013 which eases the problem, but for a cure you will need a remap. LR dealer should reprogramme for free. Is your Defender part of the oil pump recall? Ask them to check the programme. The kangarooing is not acceptable, it's...

    Defender 2.2 tdci kangarooing

The 2.2 hangs on to revs when changing gear to smooth the gear change, make it more car like. My 2.2 kangarood in 2nd gear, then I had a BAS remap. which I cant recommend highly enough. No more Kangarooing, 171bhp on the rolling road and 365ft/lb torque. I believe LR have a fix in the engine...

    Liveridge 4x4 Administration

They had 5 newly rebuilt USA spec defenders stolen from their compound. Colossal hit to cash flow. Banks don't support small businesses any more and insurance always delay payouts. It's very sad, they were a good bunch of guys. I know some people had their criticisms, but I alwYs found them very...
