    200 TDi fuel lines needed

no, I've got the unions, but foolishly thought that the fuel lines were a 'sealed unit' type of arrangement. I shall break out the stanley knife and jubilee clips forthwith.:)

    200 TDi fuel lines needed

All of them, From the tank, all round the engine bay, to the injector pump. Looked on the 'addocks, but can't seem to locate the required. Don't fancy going into LR main agent with my special bunning trousers on. Any ideas? Anyone breaking one? Cheers.

    200 TDi glow plug fitting

Cheers Sean Thanks for the piccy. I've compared the wire colours, and there is indeed a spare multi plug with all the requisite electric pipes present on the bulkhead. I'll rive the brown and yellow wires out of the disco to reuse as well, and it'll be an easy peasy fix,

    200 TDi glow plug fitting

As my defender started life as a 200 TDi, and then inexplicably gained a petrol engine, should it still have the diesel loom? And should I be able to simply transplant the glow plug relay and wiring across from the donor disco if I can get hold of a defender glow plug wiring kit that connects to...

    Tacho and boost gauge?

Can I fit 'em both into a diesel 90? If I can, should I get:- a) the special shiny central das thingywotsit or b) a tragic max power dash pod? Can you tell which one I'm keener on? Is it actually worth having these things in a defender, surely if it gets noisy, you change up, quieter, you...

    It's in.

Ah well, you live and learn. Then you die and forget it all. I did give my arse a mighty bruise when my feet slipped off the axle and steering drag link, while I was fettling the engine bay, and landed square on the steering box. Anyone seen raiders of the lost ark, well, my arse is like that...

    It's in.

Arr yes, but mine was a 2.5 petrol flywheel housing, and the TDi flywheel was too big, so I'd have had to fit the considerably lighter petrol flywheel, leading to possible tickover problems, and a definite starter motor issue. DOn't know if all the 2.5 petrols are the same, mine was a liveridge...

    It's in.

The disco 200 tdi is now in the engine bay of my previously petrol powered defender. POI for anyone thinking of putting a disco lump in their defender, a 10mm tap is useful. If you tap all the blank holes in the disco flywheel housing, then most, possibly all of the bolt holes from the...

WHat's the easiest way to remove the engine from a Disco 1?

With gearbox attached, separating on the floor / bench, or splitting them in situ, and taking the engine out by itself? I do intend to remove the g/ box and trans. box from mine, as it's as rotten as british politics.

Can anyone help me with this?

My bodgathon continues, (Or should I say my rectification of someone elses bodgeathon) continues. My old front bumper was held together with chequer plate, and held on with 3 bolts. Has anyone got a spare defender bumper mounting bolt? Also, On removing the panel on the left wing to fit the...

    Chequer Plated Delight!

Eeww. My bumper's covered with the stuff. On removing it, I discover that my bumper is made of rust, and the CP has been holding it all together. However a replacement bumper is now sitting in the garage.

    200tdi Defender conversion

I'm in the process of gearing up to do this to mine, the only difference is that the engine that I'm junking is a 2.5 petrol. BUT the engine that was in there before the petrol was a TDi. How well has lengthening the oil lines with rubber hose worked? I was going to get new ones made up.

    steering guard and snorkel woes.

If you're lucky, you'll be able to ground round the base of the bolt, and if the zinc hasn'r permeated through completely you may be able to turn it. If it's gal'd on, you'll never shift it withn a spanner unless you get it <very> hot, and keep it hot while you undo it. Zinc melts at about 420...

New defender owner, a few questions!

fire a squazz of WD40 onto he back of the wheel. This should stop the squeak. Locks - Mebbe look at getting some new old ones. There are a few threads here and elsewhere that give you pointers on green lanes. Loads of websites too. Make sure the wheels are dead ahead, take off the s / wheel...

    Part no's and questions

Cheers, have found what wire goes to what. I now just need to trace it back so I can wire it all in in the same place. Or is that not the done thing? should I just strip the outer cable and feed what's needed to each side?
