Using 2 stroke oil in diesel

That's because by adding two stroke you're also raising the flash point and lowering the combustobility. Fuel company additives are injected at app 1000 parts per million, therefore leaving the flashpoint more or less the same as the base fuel.

    Freelander, Rear Window Fault

Missed the cynicism thought it was a genuine question. After nearly four years of being a member nothing should surprise me.

    Freelander, Rear Window Fault

Re changing main battery For mine radio code not needed. Simple job about 10 minutes max as long as the clamp bolt can be unscrewed, usually it can't as it just spins in the lower fixing. Cutting off the original bolt and using a different fixing method seems to be the only answer, do a...

Help!! Is this a gearbox Problem

I'd try bleeding the clutch first (if possible as I don't know the system) it does sound like the clutch plate isn't disengaging, could also be caused by oil on the centre plate causing drag.

Help!! Is this a gearbox Problem

I'd suspect the clutch isn't clearing as most of the gears seem affected. Hydraulics maybe ?

    Another advice plea

Problem with most DIY trolley jacks is they don't have sufficient lift for most 4x4's so you either need blocks under or a block on the saddle, neither is particularly safe. If going for a trolley Jack look for a high lift, rated to at least 3 tonne. Using axle stands on unlevel or soft ground...

    newbie with a dilema!

72000 miles could mean that the VCR is due for a change ( mine was changed at 105,000 miles), as previously advised make sure the rear drive line is fitted as some scum bag sellers remove the props due to either the VCU, rear diff or IRD being shot. I think your thoughts on the diesel EGR valve...

    newbie with a dilema!

Not sure why you would be concerned about the EGR valve as they can easially be bypassed. I would be more concerned about buying the 1.8 petrol version, search the forum and you will see loads of good advice.

    Tailgate Door.

I didn't realise I had the usual hole by the handle until I read about the problem on here, decided to bend down and check and lo and behold a hole appeared. Decided even though the car was a 2005 model that now was the time to sell as I couldnt be bothered to repair the door, sometimes wish...

    Brake Pad Replacement

Some pads have a taper to the braking material, just check they are fitted the correct way, unlike the dealer I bought my Freelander off. Anti seize grease ( copaslip ) between the pad and the piston should help to reduce brake squeal.
