I'd try bleeding the clutch first (if possible as I don't know the system) it does sound like the clutch plate isn't disengaging, could also be caused by oil on the centre plate causing drag.

I'd suspect the clutch isn't clearing as most of the gears seem affected. Hydraulics maybe ?

Does it sell like burnt oil or does it smell like steam ?

Some pads have a taper to the braking material, just check they are fitted the correct way, unlike the dealer I bought my Freelander off. Anti seize grease ( copaslip ) between the pad and the piston should help to reduce brake squeal.
