    TD5 Oil Change question

The only "harm" is that it's wasteful. I do mine every year or 10-12k, (usually about the same thing). I can understand some doing every 6 months/6k, it certainly doesnt hurt. But every 3k is borderline "silly"!

one job done , more to do and its great

And it looks nice too. Nice info Fery, way over my head but it still makes sense if you know what I mean!

About to buy td5 couple questions :-)

Why do they want to remove the air suspension? Is it faulty? If it's not leave it in (much better, especially towing) and think about replacing it IF it goes wrong.

    Disco two safety and airbags?

I think all have drivers air bag but not have passenger ones. I have a grab handle on the left so therefore no passenger airbag.

    Clutch slip...don't think so.

Unfortunately £1000 about right I'd say

    Transfer box / gearbox fill

Tried this couple of days ago. Missus not happy she's now got a bowl of hand soap now (wasn't empty yet, but couldn't wait!) Worked a treat! Must have a leak, I was only "topping up", but manged to fit half a bottle in the gear box.

    Trouble starting Disco2

Had to book it into a garage in the end as it just wouldn't start. Gut feeling was air was getting in somewhere. Tried changing fuel filter and air bleed valve as cheap to do and within my capabilities! Didn't fix it. Got it back today, it was the injector O rings/seals leaking. They've been...

    Rattling noise

Can't select reverse now (and other gears stiff) related to the noise?!

    Wobble on braking

Probably wasn't the disc's fault, but bad fitting? I would just buy reasonably good discs and pads and change them again

    Looking to buy

I have a basic S model. No ACE to go wrong, no sunroof to leak. Was spec'd with dual zone climate control from new, which is very useful. Not missed any other "luxuries" tbh, but we're all different!

How much oil is too much?

^^+1 It'll leak that much in no time in sure.

    Transfer box / gearbox fill

I use a normal pump action garden sprayer. The oils are a bit thick for it so it only trickles. Takes ages but was cheap and did the job this sort of thing; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-5L-Standard-Garden-Sprayer/dp/B006L6M7FS

    Trouble starting Disco2

Thanks, checked earth and tightened slightly. No difference. Had the "click, click" on starting a couple of years ago and changed the contacts (we're totally shot!) using the repairkituk pack. Had been starting fine since then.

    Trouble starting Disco2

Been having trouble starting the disco2 recently, especially cold mornings. Soon as key turns it either sounds normal and starts fine or sounds sluggish and mostly starts but a little laboured! Connected plug in voltmeter; Before starting voltage was only 11.5 volts. Could be the issue. Seemed...

    Dave's new mota !

I changed my drag link in January for the mot (excessive play) I was advised by the LR dealer that did the mot it'd need tracking done. (Did the work myself, but got tracking done by the place I get my tyres for £30-£40 I think). It was slightly out.
