    What to do?

Think I'm gonna make do and mend for the time being, maybe keep it another year or since it'll still get through another MOT. Then next year look at getting a later 300tdi and swap the goodies over. I'd dearly love to do the chassis swap and spruce the whole thing up but I know in reality that...

    What to do?

Currently have a 300 tdi L plate 90 that was given to me by my father 8 years ago after it got too long in the tooth for the farm. Previous to that it was owned by a quarrying company for 4 years and neither my dad or the quarry firm looked after it. Hense Im now balls deep in even MORE chassis...

    Front Axle Suspension Mount

Having a quick look round the vehicle today, I can see the offside (drivers side), lower suspension mount on the axle has come away from the weld / corroded, only on the inner leaf, the outer leaf is still firmly attached. Which has caused the lower end of the damper to sit on top of the axle...

    Castor Correction Bushes?? and Gearbox???

Either bushes or new corrected radius arms will cure the diff, one solution obviously being cheaper than the other! As for the gear box, the box its self is exactly the same just the shifters are in different places so as long as you can cope with the strange lay-out im sure it'll be fine! tom

    1993 200TDi Disco Value

The old boy that's our game keeper has a 1993 200TDi disco and he's thinking of selling it. Condition is as you'd expect for someone of a wet dog, muddy beater and dead game kind of persuasion. But apart from the interior stinking and being muddy, the chassis still has paint on 98% of it, the...

    Good Old Sh*tpart Again!!!

Having just got back from a trip to Scotland (thankfully in my dad's new slitty shogun) i find that my 300tdi defenders clutch master cylinder has popped its cloggs, fluid all over the footwell and an inch of 'clutch' at the bottom of the pedal movement. Its only been fitted 2 months and after...

    R380 drain plug

Having re-read your post the thing your describing is a drain hole for any excess fluid that leaks into the gearbox bell-housing, supposed to be plugged only when wading in deep water. If it was your gearbox fluid drain plug you'd know about it as your gearbox would probably now be seized...

    R380 drain plug

If i remember rightly theres a square drive socket plug, mildly awkward to get at and the fill plug is even higher so even more awkward!!! Cheers Tom

    Sand/beaches

Yeah low psi for dry sand, you can easily get away with 15psi if your careful. Lots of revs and momentum are definately your friend!!! Stay away from the water if you want your landy to make it to the end of the year, salt water corrodes steel like a bugger, so make sure you give it a good power...

    Door hinges

The bolts off ebay do fit, but, they are metric fitment not imperial, so will only fit captive J nuts from '96 onwards. But if your fitting new door hinges you might as well change the J nuts anyway. Let us know what the scorpian hinges are like would you, i fitted some ****part ones and they're...

    New Lanny Bits information Req

As for lights i see plenty of people have mentioned brands on here but in my opinion THE best lights are Lightforce from Australia, available in this country mind. Have a look on ebay, theres 140's, 170's and 240's, the 170's are probably best for driving lamps. I personally dont have em for...

Anybody Got Front Axle Removal Diagrams Or Pics???

Firstly you'll need something suitable to hold the body up while the axle is off, 2 landy / high lift jacks or a heap of concrete blocks under each chassis rail, personally id go with the blocks. Hand brake firmy on and rear wheels chocked. Jack body up and support the chassis, jack axle up and...

    Swapping transfer box

Ive just done mine mate. Its pretty much impossible to do without taking both the gearbox and tranny off together as the bolts are too difficult to get at and it'd be a knightmare trying to line the two back up afterwards. If you've got plenty of time, which thankfully i did, take the whole seat...

    Power steering pipes

The plumbers idea could work certainly. But if i were you id take both hoses to a Pirtek type place and ask them to make you a new one up with the fittings you want on. Won't be very expensive either, probably less than £10 and you get a new hose you know isn't going to leak!!! cheers tom
