Ha Ha, get yourself an amateur license then, you'll find 2mts far better than 27megs. On the SWR subject, the lower the better although it would work well enough as high as 2.0, over about 2.5 will start to damage the rig. Amateur rigs are usualy better made and shut down on power when the SWR...

I agree with Ratty, but before doing that I would try cleaning out the multi plug with electrical cleaner, it MAY be all it takes..

It doesn't matter if you are using it in convoy, or across town or even trying to catch skip and talk abroad, IF your antenna is not matched correctly to your transmitter you WILL blow the output transistors. Drop me a line if you need help, no problem.

Mix EP and grease as you suggested, about 50 50, it'll be runny enough not to stick but thick enough not to mess your tyres, or get the Landrover stuff, only a fiver per wheel.

I would go to the furthest wheel and bleed the approx volume of the master cylinder plus 4 or 5 pumps, then 9 or 10 pumps per wheel should do it..

Yes its strange, because I've had various Landrovers over the last 30 or so years and I could probably tell them what the part numbers are, but it doesn't change the fact that, face to face, in the shop, the staff just seem to resent the fact that they are being asked to do something...

Yes, I'm surprised too.. The top cover has no real load on it and while the purists may advise against it, I would remove and reseal myself. No doubt someone will tell you i'm wrong, LOL
