Why do I hate shopping at Craddocks?

It really is strange to say, but I DO dislike shopping at Craddocks, but they are 5 mins from my house, they stock everything I need for my Landie and they are not the dearest... OK not always cheapest either, but convenience is sometimes better than cost...

Today I spent £40 there, I'm often there spending my money, so why do I always feel that it's too much trouble to serve me and that they resent customers bothering them.. It seems to be all the staff too. Do they want the custom, or do they think they have it anyway so why bother...

Isn't it crazy that I consider driving to M&M or Matlock in preferance...

Anyone agree?

i strongly disagree i've always found them very helpfull and polite

however i've been in there a few times when some knob ed turns up with a oilly broken part in his hand and demands a new one - when asked the simpliest of info about the vehicle all they can say is "well i dunno it's a land rover part your the experts you should know" - when you get customers like that even the pope would get the hump from time to time

bloke came in saying they'd sent him the wrong part (rocker cover gasket for a series 3) - 10 minutes of banter latter the chubby oldish short bloke walks the stropy customer to the series to have a look only to find it's got a slitty engine in it - and the customers reply was "well i wasnt asked what engine was in it, he just asked was it a petrol or a diesel"

to be fair to craddocks, if you know the part number of what you want their website does everything you could want it to do

if you only know what a part looks like and expect to have to find it visually then i agree it's better to use lrseries

Poor marketing.The average DIYer is the main custom, hence make the website market friendly. I have often used paddocks instead or even DLS cos they are much more user friendly for the lay man.

never been to the shop but orderd parts over the phone and on web site alwasys had good service stuff was cheap enough and delivery was fast

Yes its strange, because I've had various Landrovers over the last 30 or so years and I could probably tell them what the part numbers are, but it doesn't change the fact that, face to face, in the shop, the staff just seem to resent the fact that they are being asked to do something...

Paddock, M&M or DLS are much better to deal with..

Oh, The Tesco checkout girls is Cannock are far better, LOL

Crappy website, how I wished they had pictures for all their products. Whats the best online site for genuine landrover parts? Even Rimmer Bros too dont have many pictures.

Pics make it easy for us to see what we are buying.

Hope they improve their site. Looks like Paddock & Craddock have the same crappy web designer.

There's 2 things that stop me buying from a website (Not including lack of wonga

) No piccies and no prices. If you can't be bothered to put pics and prices on a website then I can't be bothered to buy. Surely Craddocks should have sussed this by now?

ive bin ta gordon lamb land rover dealers at chesterfield today for a cam belt kit. they should have been about £125.00 but they aint got none even at the factory so i gotta buy them as seperates which comes to £193.23.
i bet land rover has done this so ya spend more with em but the guy was very helpfull. paddock is a very good place ta get stuff from but if ya go saturday morning its a fcuking nightmare !

oh yea, hes in the popes department selling badges and oils for the oil burners. he also does a good deal on holy fillers and body cleansing products ! last week i bought a set of choir boys for deep water wading and high lift cross

I find Paddock to be best, am yet to find somthing that is cheaper elsewere too. I live no where near any of big shops, which is preaty unhelpfull.
