    Tie Rod Support

I have a trick that I have successfully used a number of times. As the lower tie bar bush is meant to be sort of floating to isolate the engine vibration, pop the old one out, clean it and wrap a few turns of pvc hose repair tape around it and put back in, as long the bush was just worn and on...

    off road tyres on back

As you suggest the difference in circumference would eventually screw up the vcu et al. Also the back wheels sort of always drive anyway, so potentially flawed logic. Good recommendation from your self which I agree with, AT all round I say get a gentle pattern for or road use

    New spec oil

Use 5w30 in mine, no problems up to 177k so far. That said if yours doesn't like it maybe try going back to the stuff you used before - I'm sure it's psychological however ;)

Freelander 1 Lower front suspension arm

    Should do the trick http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/wishbone-lower-ball-joint-9805-rbj10292030bjg-rbj500690bjg-rbj500690bjg-p-28015.html

Freelander 1 Lower front suspension arm

Wouldn't have thought there is an interval more just as needed. I have had callipers last well over 200k. It will come down to how they are used, does the car sit for extended periods etc. You can normally tell if there is a problem as stopping gets worse, pulls, rusty disks etc.

Freelander 1 Lower front suspension arm

Had Qdrive ones from euro parts on my dads k series for 2-3 years and seemed fine, would of lasted longer but car was written off. Of course you can buy genuinely from the likes of island 4x4. If you want my advise just do the ball joints with genuine ones as it will be easier over all, if you...

EAS fault - pressure constantly high

Tried cleaning the contacts today and reset the fault. Didn't have time to read value of pressure switch but as soon as the fault was cleared the car jumped up to normal night no problems - at least I am lucky enough that it's not a big problem a yet ;)

EAS fault - pressure constantly high

Interesting, may replace anyway but not noticed the pump staying on particularly long, worth a look however

Ok I will get the multi meter out and see what reading I get, hopefully it's a simple as that?!

EAS fault - pressure constantly high

Hi chaps, P38 diesel:- Can anyone suggest what's at fault, every month-2 months the EAS fault happens and the diagnostic says 22 pressure constantly high A reset keeps things good for a while, and even when the fault is on it holds height. Tried a search but it's not much good from the app...

    cold start white smoke....again (sorry)

If it's a bmw engine I would be surprised it's glow plugs, more likely leaky injector. A bmw engineer once told me that the glow plugs would never be needed in our climate as the engine was high compression with high pressure injectors and I agree, my td4 will fire even if you don't let the...

    Uprated diff mounts....

Some of the mounts you can buy have the bushes positioned alternatively, some have the rubber like -- and the better ones have the rubber like | the ones with the vertical rubber are better suited to the type of movement the diff gets

    new vcu still tight??

Was the old VCU ok? If you are stuck I find that the all makes 4x4 VCU bearings have the softest rubber outer. Could be worth a try. Get the premium ones as at least the have a 2 year warranty. If you are sure that everything is in good order and it's doesn't happen with the prop completely...

    new vcu still tight??

Did you use the same type of VCU bearings second time round, this can happen with harder rubber bearings like the ones from Brit part.

    Replacement tyres

I have the barums on my p38. Been very good on and off the road.

    new vcu still tight??

Let us know the results! Also remember that they are always a bit tight even when new, the VCU always gives some resistance and always gives some drive so you have a bit more to turn than a 2wd.

    Diesel injector thread size?

Why not just spray copious amounts of wd40 around the injectors for a few weeks? I did this and they poped out by hand in the end. The slide hammer can cause more problems if it damages the injector top. If it's not urgent I suggest WD40

    Heated front windscreen question

Sounds broken, should at least clear the middle 60% of the screen, small bit at sides not cleared in general. Check the connections under the scuttle panel or have the garage do it under warranty
