    Self Levelling Suspension D2

If the rear was sagging before you started work it may be worth checking the two solenoids/valves in the housing where the compressor lives as I have known these to leak giving the same symptoms as leaking air bags.

Prep my disco 2 for green laning advice please

Get some jate rings, recovery straps, shackles and wading plugs to start with. Fit the straps before you go near water or deep mud cos you don't want to be fiddling about under water trying to attach them if you get stuck. Also be careful of the front bumper they are expensive if you break them...

Is Anyone interested in either of these

I have two Discoverys for sale, the green one is a 1995 300 ES auto which is MOT'd till November, 7 seats, tow bar, side steps, leather interior, 175942 miles, no welding needed. The red one is a 2001 td5 auto MOT'd till January 2016 7 seats, no sunroofs, on springs, 138000 miles, almost brand...

Just bought my first Discovery 2 :) info and pics inside. Also some help wanted :)

Hammerite make a good underseal which has waxoyl in it. I paid about £23 for 3litres, mine came in a cartridge so it needed to be applied with a shutz gun which are cheap to buy but you need a compressor, it does come in aerosol cans but will be more expensive I should think.

    Head light problem

A weird thing happened this morning, I looked out the window at my 200 which I use for pay and play days and occasional daily driving and the headlights were on , the car hasn't turned a wheel in about 6 weeks, when I went out there the switch is in the off position. No time too sift through the...

    Brakes

Thanks that was quick, I did clean some black muck in the bottom of the reservoir when I changed the fluid, I will check for splash back later today and let you know the result. I drove another td5 auto yesterday and the pedal seemed much higher and it generally braked better. It may need...

    Brakes

Morning All my 2000 td5 auto has a lot of travel on the brake pedal although the brakes work ok, if I pump the pedal once it comes back up as if there's a bit of air in there. So I changed the brake fluid but hasn't made any difference the pads and discs are all ok, anyone got any ideas?

Sticking CDL had to force it

Sticking CDL had to force it

Disc 2 has a cable high/low control which I have known to be problematic through lack of use and the Disco 1 is lever operated. I have never seen a D2 with factory diff lock though

Sticking CDL had to force it

You have a centre diff lock on a Disco 2? On the Disco 1 you need to remove the console, drill out the rivets holding down the cover plate and gaiter, then you can remove the pin being careful not to lose the clip, undo 4 bolts (8mm heads on 6mm thread I think) then you can lift out the...

Rear air suspension dropping after bags replaced

Mine was leaking from one of the valves/solenoids not actual fitting, is it possible that the thread had been over tightened or crossed before you got the car, sounds like that may be the case if its been wrapped in ptfe tape if the thread has gone I reckon it'll have to be another valve block

Yay I've bought one! Now the fun begins!

Yes there is a repair part, I think I got one from Brookwells, it makes things much smarter, but I found that the screws that came with it were too short and I used longer dry wall screws, bit fiddly with the screen in but do-able Kev

Rear air suspension dropping after bags replaced

I did the same thing recently, although only one side was dropping, it was the valve block which is next to the compressor, undo the 2 screws and lift it up so you can see whats going on, leave the air connections on, and give it a squirt of soapy water and look for bubbles. Good Luck Kev

    Intermittent overheating on a 200tdi

Although its a new rad is it full of mud from off roading? I have a 200 in a Discovery. I used it to trailer a new purchase home and although fine on the outward journey when I came back loaded it was overheating. Turned out all I needed to do was wash out the rad, fins were blocked with mud. Kev
