ABS is normal. It is busy priming something underthebulkhead, ifI recall.
Re, running cool but over heating in traffic. This will be something very simple. They should run with the needle just on the cool side of half way.
If it's getting warm in traffic then I would hazard that it is...
For £35k one of the last ones has turned up on the market.
Definitely a two tier market has appeared in the last year or so for RRCs.
Rover 25 for sale | Classic Car Life
The blurb on the Barons site has changed in the last week.
Originally it talked about the car being passed to a younger member of the family who carried out some sympathetic restoration, which possibly included painting the wheels yellow.
This bit has all disappeared.
The chap now selling...
At one point it was living in London but then went out of town and was left in a shed, or dry stored as a vendor would say ;)
I think it is quite good nick and it took a lot of digging to find it at auction and it only appeared on the web a few days before the sale date so I doubt it went...
I had planned to bid on this one at Barons on the 7th but got caught in a last minute meeting and had to miss it.
Sold for £4k + fees
Barons Auctioneers
Was checking C&C for any new ones on themarket and this one appear today for £12k:
Range Rover 2 Door Classic For Sale (1979) on Car...
Cost of the engineering doesn't vary whether a 72 or a 73 or an 84 :D
Going for a 72 is a personal choice.
Are there any seals on Ebay at present? Couldn't see any.
I've no idea, I recall paying a shade under £300 for them.
They are just sitting in a garage. Not going anywhere in a hurry, so feel free to make an offer. The worst that can happen is I tell you where you can stick that Heather Mills wellington of yours. :D
Indeed, onmy first one I bought quite a few bits, some I never got round to fitting.
I have a brand new, still boxed, not even sure I ever opened the box, set of black side steps from Rimmer Bros. I could be tempted to sell them :D
On a new Landie they quote 38 + vat. I suspect on an old Rangie there will be more work to do etc.
As for the box, I knew the answer yesterday but have since forgotten. I believe the auto is the ZF from the P38, does that sound right? The more modern ones are too complicated to program/change.
Hi, thanks for the heads up on that front. I had no idea.
The whole reason for paying up for a 72 is that lovely plate :D
I think that everything remains as is. They change the springs and dmapers but not anything else and the beefed up diffs and shafts are fitted to the original casings.
Nice deal by the sounds of it.
Most of what I end up looking at is rotten or needing the parts that you can no longer get.
Others have been resparayed lincoln green and tarted up to look like Charlie's old car and are commanding commical prices.
Have you found a car yet? It's a bit of a shocker trying to find one that has been tarted up by a dealer to be sold as something it isn't. Missed 2 last week as I was just too busy.
Planning on a 72 as well. I like the concept of an old plate and no tax.
Re the engine and running gear...
They are miserably uncomfortable. The seats in those things are over 40 years old. There is no kind of support at all and nothing for the head and neck if you are taller than an Umpa Lumpa. ;)
Plus, I plan to retain and vacuum pack the original seats in case I sell that car and the market...
Whatever someone will pay for it :D
The one in london was pretty much just an engine conversion and went for £35k the other week.
Currently Classics are all the rage in London and that is where most good ones are going.
Mine is about 10 years younger and had over £100k spent to make it...
