    Damaged Range Rover P38

I know looks can be deceiving, but that looks very tidy for the age & mileage, bonnet damage looks minor. Intriguing to see the fuel pipe damage etc... Wonder if it misfired on LPG & had a little fire under the bonnet??

What seals need replacing when stripping cylinder head on discovery 1 3.9 v8

To be honest I took em off with a pair of pliers & tapped the new ones on using a small socket the same diameter, but I was just showing the correct way to do it. If you use pliers you have to be careful not to squeeze them too much otherwise they'll soon become out of shape and be useless.

What seals need replacing when stripping cylinder head on discovery 1 3.9 v8

There is a special tool to remove / replace the seal. They are quite tight to remove and when putting the new ones back on you have to be careful NOT to squash them otherwise they'll leak again. This is the correct tool use, (see below video)

What seals need replacing when stripping cylinder head on discovery 1 3.9 v8

The little blue circular rings go there and like Discool said the springs & collets on top. Piccy always paints a thousand words. Top one with the seals on, bottom one fully built with valves etc.

Disco 1 3.5 no oil pressure

When I rebuilt my 3.9, I did the vaseline trick and I'd say within a few seconds of firing up (no more than 10 secs) the oil pressure light went out.

    Sport Change Turbo

There is a video on Youtube in which the turbo is removed from a D3 without removing the body. If the chassis is the same on the Range Rover sport as the D3 I'd say it could be possible (but watching the vid its a very fiddley time consuming process, using modified tools in the process).

Disco 4 (LR4) engine rebuild? or bin.

Just been reading this post (as I can't do much else with my recent back op) and I saw this interesting video on Youtube about a chap whose D4 had a snapped crank. Well, surgery this aft. Back in the room (awake and functioning--eating mostly as I was ravinous) stood up at 11pm for a pizz. Now feeling sleepy as the next set of painkillers are kicking in.

In a bit of a quandry........???

Thanks all for your replies! I've been 'suffering' for 4 years with back pain but kept soldiering on. Up till recently I was going to a Chiropractor visiting 2-3 times a month. All came to a head last week when I tried to get out of bed in the morning & collapsed on the floor like a sack of...

In a bit of a quandry........???

Hmmm! think I might just leave it gathering dust in the garage then. I ain't gonna be working on it for at least 6 months after surgery, which I can't have for another 2 weeks due to having to self isolate (covid rules). Just so frustrating when I've come so far :(:(:(

My discovery 1 v8 has no electrics at all

Firstly I'd check all the earthing straps just to make sure they have a good contact with the body and haven't broke or are rusted up.
