I got smarts in the front of my 90, cracking seats, see vilguy on the members list, he has a full second row fitted in his 110.

    Help!!..I'm stumped...

Very odd, id be inclined to check all the drive train and brakes for excessive heat after a short drive as it might show you if anything is binding seizing, maybe check the slave cylinder on the clutch and release bearing arm but thats going to mean pulling it off again i think. Even something...

The last 2 years i have put my 90 in for mot knowing it had blatant fails but thinking once i have a list off of the tester of what else needs doing i can fix it all and away you go, both years he has passed it , i honestly think they dont look if theyre busy and just issue the ticket.

DIY Job or Not? Rear crank seal replacement

I would say though mate, if it starts, runs, and drives well then it most likely is just a seal thats on its way out rather than a knackerd engine, thats just my opinion mind you.

DIY Job or Not? Rear crank seal replacement

I presume he means crankcase pressure build up, worn rings or blocked galleries, you would see evidence from oil filler i should think first though. Cap blowing off or oil seeping past it, breathing and chugging heavily when the caps off.

    Noise when pressing clutch

Check ujs mate, i had a similar issue, breif high sound like washers spinning on a shaft just as clutch depressed or just as i let it out, was front prop uj at tbox ,didnt feel bad when i checked but was sloppy as hell once i dropped the prop off.

DIY Job or Not? Rear crank seal replacement

Its not complicated , just a lot to do for a wee little seal, if you do it yourself make sure you get a genuine seal too mate as its alot to do to find out a cheap seal has failed.

DIY Job or Not? Rear crank seal replacement

After doing mine on a 200tdi and replacing the gasket between the block and flywheel housing also which will give the same symptom i think id be happy to pay 250 to let some other person do it, advise a clutch while yer in there too seeing as it all has to come out anyway.

I cant even think of a decent garage around here for that sort a thing, i did one a few years ago but have niether the time or space these days. Might sound daft but give jls willenhall a ring, see if they know anyone being a proper old fasioned parts shop.

Bits I've added that really made a difference.

The best bits ive ever added where the smart car seats I got from vilguy a few years ago, so bloody comfy and the upper seat belt loops mean I can get the ragtop off without having a bar across the bulkhead for seat belt mounts.
