have you tried putting the key in the ignition and pressing the unlock button on the fob???

remember to turn the key to the left i think it is before you enter the code then unlock..

mine does something similar, it switches to program, front blowers, rear window heater and recycle air...all by its self!!! worse in damp weather so i've put it down moisture. it's querky, and freaks out the mechanic when it comes to MOT time:D

you to$$er!!! definately oil related.... they used a flush in the engine that stripped the old oil from the engine...i bet if deranged rang the garage they would confirm that, the oil has now worked it's way back in to the moving parts of the engine!!! it aint the belt tensioner if it was then...

so are you saying that if the wrong grade of oil was used it may effect the engine??? especially if the oil hasn't been changed for a while??? the crap left by the old oil could be causing friction in places in the engine???:D and mineral oil is the best for older engines is that not true??:p

OMG wammers, you old fart!! did you just poo poo the wrong oil thing coz i'm a girl????:D there's loads of difference between oils and FYI.....i can tell when my oil needs changing and topping up, I go cherp cherp cherpy cherp when i'm in need of lubricating!!!!:p with a drink of course!!!;) lol

does it do it everytime you start, ie when warm and start it?? i would change the oil. i would suspect the oil they have used is incorrect for the car. as the car warms up it's lubicating the engine getting rid of the cherp? was it a main dealer or a back street garage?

i have the same problem. i have to do a 25mile round trip every day in my 2.5dt and it's working out expensive. i need a 4x4 and love it so much. i'm looking at getting a cheap little 45MPG + run around, the saving on diesel at £200 a month will be £120?? a month so more than pays for the tax...
