The center console base tunnel on my 1987 Ninety is dried out and cracking to pieces. Does anyone happen to have one available? Doesn't have to be brand new, just in decent condition.
Thanks,
OZ
The oil sump on my 1995 Defender 110 300tdi was leaking so I just removed it, cleaned, and reinstalled with a gasket sealant but realized that one of the 22 bolts is slightly longer than the others. Where does this one go?
Is it also a red flag that the name of the business is "J.C. Landrover spares" instead of "J.C. Land Rover spares"? Could just be semantics but I'm taking note for future transactions.
This community certainly gives me hope for humanity on a consistent basis! Thanks Tenebreaux but you don't need to worry about it now. Here's another development in the situation. The seller does not accept paypal or credit card and he said the doors are not available to view since they are...
I hope so. I've read too many horror stories about gumtree scammers so if anyone could vouch for him, it would make me feel a lot better moving forward with the transaction.
I've been looking for some Defender doors and came across the following link on gumtree.

After discussions with the seller, he said he could provide a full...
I have a similar noise that comes from the fuel line so I assume it's the fuel pump. The ticking increases with revs. The truck still runs fine so I've learned to live with it.
Can you post a rough estimate on how much that thing weighs since it is 3x the thickness of the stock xmember? It'll probably reduce the max speed of my poor 19J by a couple miles per hour. Not a major concern but something to consider. I should know by this afternoon if I want to replace or...
Will this fit a 1995 Defender 110 and/or a 1987 Land Rover 90? Probably not universal for both but worth asking. It's a three hour drive for me to pick it up, but might be worth it.
Thanks lynall - I've definitely gotten violent with the hammer which is how the hole showed up. There is plenty of good metal to weld though. Regardless, I'm leaning toward just replacing the crossmember. Is patching that much cheaper? Seems like the labor alone would keep the price high...
Thanks steveo - the rest of the chassis is solid so hopefully my quote doesn't go that high! I noticed that a bearmach or paddock crossmember (w/o extensions) is around 100 for the part. The sites I've visited don't say how thick the steel is though. I assume 2mm at the least to match stock...
I totally agree that diesel is on the way out and it's not 1980...I just liked the styling of the original Defender...I said nothing about the engine or fuel type.
The rear crossmember on my 1987 LR 90 has some rot and needs to be patched. I'm taking it to the garage on Tuesday for a price estimate and would appreciate your opinions on a realistic price range before I go. Thanks for your input!
