    Project No. 2 - 1969 series 2A 88inch

The project had to take a rest for 6 months due to work commitments. Got back to it and have made some good progress. Work completed so far : Engine rebuild - valve guides replaced with later type as I couldn't get good fitting o-rings. Engine was in remarkably good condition inside. New...

    Zenith fuel inlet pipe security

Hi, I've looked for a previous threat for an answer but didn't find one; apologies though if this question has been answered before. I'm rebuilding a 1969 series IIA with a zenith carb. The fuel inlet spigot pipe seems to be press fit into the carb body as it turned and came out of the body...

I'm looking at getting a CB rig. Are the shorter aerials (around 85cm length) OK for general laning convoy use as I'm thinking whether to mount it on the front wing or on the side of the roof rack. The back half of my roof rack and rear of the 110 isn't usable as I'm thinking of getting a roof...

4th is clear for me, could also do 3rd at a push. I have Michelin ZXLs which were great on the last trip, had no issues with the muddy field. I have them on as standard, so use them for all driving. They serve well for driving at 50 around country lanes on the way to work. The tread seems to...

Ah, thanks for confirmation. Yep, always good to take advantage of bits coming off and being able to see more exposed chassis to give them all a good paint and wax. I'll wait for another nice weather day and finish it off. Thanks for quick response.

After a morning with my good lady, breakfast at local pub, quick shop and then back home to install the exhaust. She kindly sat with me and passed spanners and tools as I was struggling to get the old bits off. Exhaust manifold nuts were solid so had to resort to firing up the compressor and...

I went for a Bearmach system in the end, arrived today and look good. Heavy gauge steel and 3 year warranty. complete system for £110. And the weekend looks good weather perfect for crawling under the old girl. Wire brush and underseal at the ready to keep the chassis coated whilst I'm there :)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll do some surfing and avoid the Britpart stuff

The rear silencer on my 110 has broken loose. I'm not looking to put a S/S system on at this time as I'm saving pennies for the Series 2 rebuild. John Craddock Spares and Paddock Spares have the mild steel systems but both seem to be Britpart. Anyone have experience of Britpart exhausts ? Is...

The price looks good, cheaper than the actual manufacturer. Let us know what you think when they arrive. I'm poised to order a set :-)

I've looked at CB radios on Amazon. Anybody recommend a particular make / model. I'd prefer a small one as it will fit in my Raptor dashboard unit.
