I think the issue is the x brake, if I were you I would go back to the standard we up as it ruins boxes. I will save you from another disaster and take it off your hands

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Yeah it was a charmed life. The garden was just a large lawn so no gardening needed, a large workshop in the garden meant I could work on my bikes and being single meant I could do what ever I wanted when I wanted, oh how I miss those days.lol

    My disco build thread.

I think the thread is really interesting for showing anyone that a damaged and abused car can reach excellent condition. Quality of work is great and you should be proud of it..

My "project" Land Rover Discovery 300Tdi

ARBS don't seem to bother that disco. Axle is still hitting the bump stops. I doubt that LR put on something that would restrict axle movement. ARBS just resist rapid movement.

S as the rain stopped play on the disco I wanted to make sure I did someone productive so I recovered the Lotus 7s dashboard. Just need to get back to work on the disco now lol

Well baring any input from Sir James (god, anyone would think he is God, hang on - he is lol) I have been pontificating on this. As you have a workshop, I would take it out and strip. The £300 job only lasting 4000miles is not all that great is it? I'm sure you could do better as you are...

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

It was a great idea and he snuck in as I was typing lol When I was single I used to have three motorbikes in the kitchen. To be fair it was a huge kitchen and I still had room to do the cooking. French door meant I could just ride in and out.

In wouldn't really remove it until I have a alternative to put in. Once the things out it can't be moved around. D you have RAVE so you can take a look at that? When watching 'A 4x4 is born' the gearbox rebuild looked fairly simple, built vertically not horizontally. Is yours a LT77?

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Yeah I have thourght of it, but we are very posh around here and I already take the position of the cul-de-sac pikey lol. Seriously I have but don't want to took out of the living room window at the old girl under a sheet. I'm a snob.... Although it may have to happen as a last resort

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

I have a lot of play in the pinion bearings, much the same as with the rear before that blew. The rumble I suspect is this movement but also maybe the UJs TBH there are so many things that can vibrate and rumble its a wonder we ever get them running spot on lol. My plan is to unbolt the...

Massive amount of play in steering :(

I have a lift on mine. The steering is always more vague when the wheel bearings need adjustment which is more often than standard intervals when you lift a Discovery. Track rod ends are also vulnerable not to mention rear trailing arm bushes as well as the caster being out of sink if its still...
