    Disco Tray back build

Its been great catching up on your build, it looks great and has come along leaps and bounds since I last looked some months ago. With your three link set up, make sure that the braking forces are taken in compression on the third link and not tension as is the case with the most farmiliar...

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Well hello guys, Yes it's been while but I have had the old girl parked up for summer and I have had my hands full with the Lotus 7 rep, which I'm glad to report is terrorising the locals around the nearby lanes and roundabouts!!!!! Not sure what to do next to the disco but I have a few little...

    Brake bleeding help! please :(

I had a similar issue with mine. I had the calipers with three nipples and each one had to be bled in order for the air to be erradicated. A little air made a big difference in my system. I used an easybleed in the end as I was on my own, worked a treat.

Hi Guys, Been looking for a defender for a project and came across this on eBay. 171074955814 Everything thing is there but the seats and doors but it has no ID. Discussions on this forum have lead me to post this in case someone knows its history. Appears recognisable with steel...

Building a Land Rover from Bits - Registration

Hi guys, Firstly thank you all for your replies. The eBay item number is 171074955814. The vehicle is all there apart from the seats and the front doors so in my mind it is either stolen, OR the identity has been put on a stolen Defender. I posted the original question to make sure that I...

Building a Land Rover from Bits - Registration

Hi Guys, Well it's been a while since I was here and I'm looking for my next project. I have found a potential winner in a 110 Defender but here is my question, The owner says that he has used the vehicles Identity on another project so how would I go about registering this vehicle once...

    winch advice

12000lb winch is the way to go. mr Noisy has replaced his front one recently with a high speed item which is very good. Cuts down on winding in or out with no load on the rope. I would suggest synthetic rope if you can afford it. I still have cable and it gets heavy after a couple of recoveries...

It's interesting that after the part has been changed, since December, yet they are still advertising two kits with the same swivel. Are they admitting that they haven't updated their website, catalogue or are they trying a fast one? Are they saying that before December they didn't supply...

    Gearbox or Transfer box

    Project lizzie rebuild thread

Quarter panels removed is definitely the way to go. I wish I had known about it before I started, it would have made my life easier. To stop the body twisting I would weld in supports between pillars both longitudinally and laterally with an additional diagonal support. The body is not that...

    Project lizzie rebuild thread

Robbh, your Lizzie doesn't look too bad as others have said. Looking forward to following this thread with a body off resto on the cards. Just as a thought, would it be easier to remove the body and repair once off the chassis? I only say this as it is what I would do if it were me, not saying...
