    TD5 ignition and immobiliser nightmare!

Where in the world are you?

    First 90? buyers advise

I agree with Hippo! Take someone else that knows SOMETHING about cars, and ideally Landrovers. I think about the stuff I missed when buying my Disco, and it's criminal really. I find myself trying to look at everything, knowing it was REALLY cheap, so not wanting to lose it. I've since of course...

to fix or not to fix?

Silly question time - but are you sure it's actually the clutch? (Or is this where I find out you're a time served LR technician, and I'm just being a dick!) What happened - what bent 'pop' What are the symptoms - is it dragging, or just not connected to the gearbox any more?

Disco 2 Keeping the tail gate open

I like that check strap @dieseldog69 icredibly straight forward. Now I just need to find the local Volvo excavator dealer....

    Disco 2 dog guard

@Wulli Simpson - you get first dibs on this, as it's your thread, but if he has two sets available, can you let me know please :D

    Disco 2 dog guard

Hi @wullie TBH if I could get one in say 6 weeks from China, I'd be OK with that. I just don't fancy hacking together something (Which I know would be less than great) as a permanent solution. Did they actually suggest ordering was an option?

    Disco 2 dog guard

If you find a supplier please let us all know. I’ve been looking for one for a while now. The top bracket is what I’m particularly after, as I’m confident of making a half tidy bottom bracket from some aluminium channel. Perhaps this is one for someone with a 3D printer

I replaced my drivers door locking mechanism!! :D. I now have a car that locks on the button, and both front doors unlock on the button!! OK. so the rear two doors are both locking, but not unlocking, but hey - that'll go on the list.... Oh, and a bit more cleaning...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Strarted ceaning the interior- that's going to be a MASSIVE job. Got the fault code read to try and solve my SRS problem. RH pretensioner is open circuit, so something to investigate when I get back home on Monday.

    New gaiters

Thanks- no rubber bands left on the old ones, but at least I know it's nothing more complicated than that.

    The dreaded VAT

Well, if they're charging VAT, they sure as heck want to be registered- HMRC would take a fairly dim view otherwise I expect. They can't keep it, and one of the few organisations you REALLY don't upset are HMRC :(

DIsco 3.9 EFi no crank to start

You can always flash the starter with a wire direct from the battery (carefully). If it doesn't, crank then it's likely the starter. If it does, think immobiliser.

Anyone know where to get cheapish all terrain tyres

For tyres, my local independent beat all the online prices I could find for 255/55/18 Insa Turbo Rangers. £93 a corner fitted and balanced.

    New gaiters

@bane1985 You've made a real nice job of yours - mine arrived today, so just need to find the time to put them in. What glue did you use for sticking the leather to the bottom shrouds? And how did you get such a tidy job around the top - I'm thinking a nice tight bit of string, or possibly...

I've only gone and done it.........

Welcome - The 2a was one of my favourites - my old 2.25 petrol wasn't fast, but I smiled every time I drove it.

    New gaiters

Well - choices choices - I went cream (Non-perforated), as it seemed closest to the surrounding colour scheme - although beige, and tan both looked similar.... I must take photos of the before and after!! Thanks for your post prompting me to get on with it!!;)

Just ordered a set. Let the interior tidying continue :)

    New gaiters

Very nice - and really tidies up the interior. Now just need to decide what colour stitching!

Have you actually purchased and tested this light bar yourself, or are you just saying that generally they’re great?

    Pick up to hardtop conversion

I've had most types of roof.. I really like the full canvas for summer - roll the rear sides up, and it's a great convertible. Truck cab is a bit too 'cosy', and I prefer a full hard top. It can be lifted in alone - and takes around 15 bolts to secure IIRC. (It's been some years) Then you get...
