Don't do waxoyl - use Dynax UB (floors) and S50 (cavities) instead and you won't need to do it again next year when the waxoyl has given the rust a good head start for you... :(

Just to add to the above, I think that eventually any new tensioner will start to make a noise because of the well known problem of he casting misalignment, but adding a penny is too much for the stud to take in the long term, so use the barest minimum thickness washer that you can get away with..

I tried the penny trick a couple of years back and it gave me a squeak free aux belt for about 9 months or so iirc, until one day when sat at the lights there was a bang and the stud that the tensioner assembly sits on snapped! I then had to try and drill and extract it (which thankfully...

I find LiquiMoly Diesel Purge a very good cleaner - run the engine off it neat for about 10-15 mins about once a year (before my MOT) and there's a noticeable difference afterwards in pull and emissions cleanliness. Just don't forget the new air filter before the MOT! :D

You say that about it not dissolving, but in the tank in my boot I can clearly see in the bottom of it and it's just not there! In the summer I run the diesel in the boot tank, and Veg in the main tank, and reverse this in winter. I've not seen it happen in the boot tank with either veg or derv...
