Just a big round silencer box which does get in the way. I found it easier to reach round from the front and back of the cat, having gorilla length arms helps.

I did mine without dropping the exhaust. Bit fiddly but not too bad once you get yourself in the right position and comfortable. Get the driver's side front wheel lifted up and securely held. Slide under from the driver's side and get some decent LED lights in place. I have one with a long strip...

+1 for the Irwins. Also can try finding a fractionally smaller socket such as an old whitworth or other imperial size and hammering it on as a last resort.

From the shape it looks like it's for a D3 and D4 with the intake on the right hand side.

I put a Dayco one on when I renewed the tensioner and that squeaked. Changed it for a Conti and cured it immediately.

I've got a pair of those valves plus a bit of pipe in my toolkit purely as a short term emergency fix if the compressor fails. As to fitting them on full time :rolleyes:.......

The best security in that case is to park up to a wall or similar whenever possible so there's no room to get at them.

I started to get some vibration on mine around the 2,000 rpm region, I put a new rubber doughnut on the back axle (old one was showing signs of ageing) while changing the oil seal and I also took the opportunity to get a heavy duty front prop shaft with grease points on the cardan joint...

It'll only get more persistent as well as mine did. Replacing was a bit fiddly but very straightforward. As Feri suggests, check the wiring harness for damage first.

Sealey do an alignment tool available quite reasonably on the internet and worked nicely for me when I replaced my xyz switch recently. On the other hand, the switch was rather pricey :(

Agreed. Worse if you have a few cars in the "fleet". Back in the 80s I found a similar set, ABV I think with a spring loaded conical end, unused in my Dad's garage. Seeing as he'd never miss them they went on my Dolly Sprint :)

I replaced the bleed nipples with one way valve versions. Back it off about one turn, attach a hose, pump the pedal a few times and tighten back up. Goodridge speed bleeders.

Pattern ones maybe fine but I would get a genuine one.

New genuine xyz switch. Not as bad ad I thought even without taking the exhaust off.
