I remember doing the starter motor on mine & thinking it was a pain...had to down tools a few times on this one to clear my head. Feck, that rear bolt on the drivers side exhaust manifold...thats just evil!

Cant see how. It would just enter crankcase. What do you mean as 'rough' running?

It's not going to be too happy with them missing. You've got 4 v shaped gaps messing with your crankcase pressure.

I got the kit from martyuk. Worked a treat. Repaired my rotary dial also (the tiny ball bearing had escaped & was taking residence in the casing).

Did try putting the rocker gear on but getting too dark....oh for a garage..& I'm supposed to be working.

Heads back on. Put it all back together tomorrow with any luck.

Just fitting the new heads with ARP's.First one on & felt much better with studs, on with second now. Maybe I am doing something wrong but follow rave to the letter & pretty meticulous about everything. Still putting it down to weak threads in block.

Just RTV in the notches between block & heads before putting the valley end seals on (i do run a little under the end seals for good measure). Make sure the metal clamps are properly in place & not catching on the lower intake. Some do put a little RTV around the coolant galleries between the...

I've had a few problems with them sending me ****part items when i've ordered (& paid for) better makes. They seem very reluctant to sort anything out. Emails go without response. Usually fast delivery although the last item i bought (starter motor) took over a week - they blamed the supplier.

Just the fuel pipe. Have you checked it's getting fuel. If you emptied it it takes a while to fill before the engine will fire up.

Do you have LPG installed? Possibly a connector for that. Will have a look at mine in the morning (it's stripped down currently).

Cheers Dave, since the new engine I had the thread in the block go on the RH bank (my mech put a helicoil in & did the head again). Then the next thread to that one failed within 2 months so I helicoiled them all on the RH bank & all been good. Now the LH bank has started to leak a little oil...

Stripped my engine down ....again. Took heads to get checked. Ordered a set of ARP studs from V8Tuner (very helpful guy is Paul). This is the last attempt to sort out my head gaskets or it's swan vesta time.:mad:

Is it a thor? Looks like the throttle position sensor connector but that should be near the RH side of engine loom & connects to throttle body - right next to where breather pipe connects.

Well feck me....it did pop back out when removing key but gave it a bit of a fiddle & it popped out a fraction further & steering now locking as it should....cheers Grrrrrr! Will give it a spray of graphite as it looks like it could be sticking a little.
