P38A Steering not locking?

Ok, so had a search but can't find anything on this.
For the past few days my steering wheel has stopped locking when taking the keys out?
Found plenty of info on the steering not unlocking with the key & being unable to turn key in barrel to start but not vice versa?
 
Is the ignition barrel popping out with the key or does it stay stuck in? After removing the key, if you jab it with your finger a few times does it pop out further?
 
Well feck me....it did pop back out when removing key but gave it a bit of a fiddle & it popped out a fraction further & steering now locking as it should....cheers Grrrrrr! Will give it a spray of graphite as it looks like it could be sticking a little.

The latch cover that the key pushes up when inserted also sticks and gives a key in ignition message. Spray some contact cleaner in and work the key in and out. Blow out with air and repeat several times to free it off then use graphite to lube it.
