Hi LRDII, I had a little of this recently and I found a problem with the pipe on the back of the pump. I had the pump off whilst doing other work and the pipe retaining clip had bitten into the pipe causing a leak. I cut about 5mm off the pipe and reconnected it all and no leaks now. Good...

WD-40 is NOT a lubricant, it's a Water Dispersant. The cables need oil or grease to keep them working properly. If cable replacement is required, give the inner a good oiling/greasing before fitting it.

Hi Nic, the car on std. suspension will accommodate both of those sets of tyres easily and without problem - so why would you go to the expensive of raising the suspension and, more importantly, raise the centre of gravity of the vehicle, which is predominantly used for motorway cruising...

Did you do final topping up via the thermostat housing? If not check to see that it is full of coolant - bet it isn't thought. When doing this, ensure that the header tank cap is firmly in place, otherwise you'll over-fill the header tank.

You shouldn't be using a torque wrench to take the nut off, only to do it up again to the designated tightness. Use a breaker bar of suitable quality.

Just think about the amount of airflow coming off the fan and pushing any loose oil rearwards. Also check the LHS rocker cover gasket for oil leaks.

Have you considered making yourself a large wooden 'box' as a way of lining out the interior? It would protect all the interior trim so it'll still look good when you come to sell her on.
